120 mph winds... cat 3 if the NHC wants to pull the trigger at 10:00

I'd go 115 based on what they've got to make it a 3 but this iteration of the NHC has been aggressive enough to think they'll go with 120 here at 10 am.

That’s what I was thinking but I don’t know what’s considered fast/slow

Do they retire Greek letters after a bad hurricane?

I saw someone ask James Spann this yesterday, and my understanding of his answer is that they’ll retire the name (if it is indeed retired) as “Delta 2020.” So I guess the name isn’t really “retired” but is put in the retired list to recognize the severity of the storm.

Delta is assuredly getting retired. It’s about to lay waste to the extreme NE top of the Yucatán and then will impact the central gulf coast as a 1 at a minimum. That’s going on the retired list.

Well that’s what I’m rooting for now lol. Does landfall slow it down?

Would Hattiesburg be a good spot from Nola?

Looks like the only way it’s shifting is West bc of that H over Florida correct?

No. A storm is at the mercy of the bigger picture atmospheric flow in terms of direction and forward speed.

That last update says it’s moving at 15mph. That’s hauling arse isn’t it? Can expect it to continue moving that fast through landfall? Ive read this whole thread, so I’ve already accepted we’re getting a direct hit, with at least a decent cat 2. Now I have my hopes set on it moving through in 10-15 minutes lol

Even if it’s moving fast you won’t be out of the shite in 10-15 minutes with a direct hit.
