You were right willwadeeeeee and the mods can trash the thread I posted. I only posted that because the 247 page had Racey as #18 on the roster page. Curry and Clark deserve it but I wish there was only one #18 like it used to be.

18 should just be the teams unsung leader and 7 be the teams alpha.

I like it. Damone looks like he's gotten himself into great shape and is finna eat - Curry earned it when he started and ran his tail off against Oklahoma, whatever he does from here is lagniappe.

There isn't an 18 every year, we should never have 2 and sometimes we shouldn't even have 1.....if one kid hasn't separated himself, why bother?

Are you saying that they don’t deserve it. Do you think that Jacob Hester or Matt Mauk didn’t deserve it either. They weren’t super stars. They had the want to and heart needed to wear 18. I have no problem with who they gave it to. I believe Curry is going to surprise y’all. I don’t think he would have been awarded 18 if he didn’t deserve it. Eaux sees these kids every day

There's a case for Marshall... #18 is about mental toughness.

One way to gauge mental toughness is how a player comes back from a significant injury. It's much easier to quit or take the easy road. And down the path of the easy road is never getting back to where you left off.

It's much harder to come back better than ever. A lot of that is mental; medical staff and/or PT and/or coaches can prod you all they want, but if you ain't got the right attitude, you won't get there.

So with that in mind Marshall was damn sure a candidate.

But while return from injury is one of the best judges of character/mental toughness, it isn't the only one.

I'd say all of the measures regarding mental toughness include "no quit" in some shape or fashion. And for different reasons/causes both Curry and Clark have shown that.

They had what it takes to encompass the the number. They created it not matched what was expected. Those 2 were the mold.

18 and 19 are pretty lame linebacker numbers tbh. Need to stay in between 32-48 or single digits.

Can't remember anyone who had a good season with 18 since they made it a thing.
