I’m assuming this is good news right?

Don't know, but that north wind is whipping in Lafayette right now.

Never upset to see them die.
It looks sheared still. Everything is still pushing the clouds NE. This can lead to pulsing of the convection but also ingesting some dry air would cause the storms to collapse too. This is exactly what we want to see tonight.
Whats interesting is the latest bit of convection firing off is well NE of where I assume the center to be. Recon is in there and flying an odd route too. (Nevermind, it's normal after the newest set of data came in)

Seems like most of those ensembles are bringing it a good way in to tx

Duke, and anyone else interested, there's an interesting twitter thread between Papin, Sillin, and another guy regarding remnants of Sally.
That link kind of gets you there, but you have to click around to find the full thread.

Levi's video tonight explains why
the storm is further north today than the models expected it to be a few days ago
so the storm is a bit closer to the building ridge over north Texas and Oklahoma... thus it'll feel a stronger westward push from that ridge than previously expected... thus bringing it further inland
that ridge eventually pushes east and that westward push leaves

I should have said "possible" remnants of Sally.

Reminds me of saying I wasn't sure how much the north shift mattered last night and then watching how it actually did matter today.

I'm going to call it Sally, definitions be damned.

This thing is getting rolled out pretty quick and the trough that's going to do it should bring some nicer weather for the weekend but a week away...it's still mostly guesswork.
