It's included on your bill whether you want to or not.

Enjoy that bologna and chipwitch togo and add 15%

Meh... as long as places don’t try and slide this stuff past you, I have no problem with it

At least they're telling you about it and not sneaking it in there. Why are you complaining?

ETA: I'm not mad at a restaurant making sure their staff is being taken care of, especially right now. I actually wish more restaurants would do this.

i mean.....if servers were paid minimum wage or above minimum wage the price of food would increase accordingly. the only problem i have with this is not being able to withhold a tip for shoddy service.

Cool with me. Tipping is a stupid cultural thing I'd be glad to see go - I'd rather just pay more and have people make wages.

Tipping or not, this place is a hipster cultural cancer serving shite like bologna sandwiches.

They're also fanatical BLM. They say that if you have any uncertainty about whether you align with the BLM movement, this restaurant is not for you. We're supposed to "interrupt our investment in the racist systems from which we benefit." The nice neighborhoods that my parents and grandparents grew up in in NOLA are fricking hellholes now. Interrupt that system and GFY.

I honestly wouldn’t mind doing away with tipping all together.

It doesn’t ensure good service as you tip at the end, and for every bad waitress there are 10 people stiffing them.

Think they are "sorry not sorry" when people take their business elsewhere?

What is the accounting loophole behind this? Why not just increase each menu item by 15%.

I only ate here once and it just came across as overpriced hipster food truck fare. Wasn't really planning on going back but adding 15% for what's essentially non-existent service? Hard pass.

Coquette is adding 5% to the bill to pay for sick leave and other benefits.

Not sure why they aren't just increasing prices 5% and instead feel the need to let you know they are doing it.

As if the price of restaurants wasnt already outrageous these days here's a mandatory extra 15%. I assume this is for take-out as well. WHy should I tip for take-out?

Restaurants could raise prices 15%, we’d probably never notice, and get rid of tipping altogether.

That’d be a great day.
