I took my 2020 Traverse into the dealer to that ambient air temp sensor replaced. It was giving eroneous readings causing the A/C compressor to not kick on. These readings rand anywhere from 95 to -40.

So while on the way home I noticed that the millage on the odometer had jumped from 1270 miles to 101710 miles.

Have anyone heard of this happening before?

The paperwork from this morning when I dropped it off showed 1270 miles so it's documented.

The service dept is flabergasted.

To cover that many miles in such a short time they had to be going pretty fast.

Just think how many miles to the gallon they got going that fast. 4000 or so ?

Is it a digital odometer or an analog type?

Damn, I hope they at least changed the oil and rotated the tires routinely. Maintenance is key.

I kid you not. I saw the vehicle the whole time it was being serviced.

I've tried to find info about it online but everything is about rolling back miles, not rolling forward.

They used the Lego gear reduction kit on your battery. It kicked it up to aboot 600,000 volts, DC. Then they turned your wheel aboot 1/4 turn and the gearing slapped you a quick 100k on the odometer.

It's science.

Get ready to lawyer up because you will never be able to sell the thing once it’s tagged with an odometer rollback.

Well that clears that up.
