When everyone started going 45min-hour further east.

I haven't been to Destin in a while so I can't tell you when it started. I go to the original OT trashy beach, Orange Beach.

Seems like this town is catering more to the lower-middle class and oil field workers.

Seems like a bad business decision.

The trash have migrated slowly east from Gulf Shores. Gotta go to 30A now to avoid the riffraff.

So it’s become a pretty accurate representation of the country in general. A bunch of fat arse, nasty people.

I've been going there for 30 years now since i was a kid. A lot of the areas haven't done very well with keeping condos updated and that's keeping the prices steady instead of growing like in certain parts of 30A, SanDestin Resort etc. Also, rental volume is way up and that keeps some of the less desirable places at suppressed prices.

Oh and plenty of lower class people just have more money now.

Unemployment checks and stimulus checks brought those people to Destin. Hopefully next year you won’t see much of those people.

And there’s plenty of good spots to eat you not looking in the right places
