At the same time Trump was talking to Woodward, Fauci was on TV saying the virus was no worse than the flu. While Trump was shutting down travel from China, the dems accused him of overreacting and being a xenophobe. Days after the travel ban Pelosi and a long list of other libtards were telling people to go the China Town, bars, cinemas, and ride the subway. and to basically party like there is no tomorrow.

Republicans and Trump supporters won’t care about this book. Doesn’t matter how he handled COVID the left would still hate him.
Woodward’s book could effect Independents that are on the fence. It could also hurt the Hispanic vote. Hispanics are more likely to die from COVID than white people,

Woodward's book is BS. No one knew in early February how bad the virus would be. When you shut down travel from one of the largest countries in the world it shows you are taking precautions to protect the American people and taking the virus seriously. No one wants a President that is going to panic the whole country. Trump did ten times better than any demorat. Look at NY and NJ. Their governors killed thousands of elderly people through stupidity.

He knew. Its on freaking tape. He lied. Both my LSU alum neighbors died. He says China should have stopped it. He should have stopped it as soon as it his USA then.

It didn't originate here, so that makes no sense. China could have told the truth, quarantined everyone, informed all countries about the virus and stopped travel in and out of there. Trump did more than they did with his travel bans and it didn't even originate here.

The only way it would have gone better would have been going full draconian on stopping flights from anywhere and shutting the borders. I was calling for that way back in January and February and remember co-workers looking at me like I was a nut.

Was this his only two options? Play it down or cause panic?
George W Bush created a plan for a pandemic, made it part of HLS, Obama used it for Ebola, H1N1, etc and added to this "Pandemic Playbook" and in 2017 Trump did away with it.
All he had to do was follow instructions, but he waited over a month before he really even acknowledged it. And I honestly believe what he said in that recording is his best spin of things. If you don't think he should hold a good bit of responsibility of mismanaging this thing then you are just completely blind.

Woodward conducted 18 interviews with Trump from Dec 5, 2019 to July 22, 2020. The interviews were recorded by Woodward with Trump's permission.
It will be interesting to see how interviews Trump granted with permission to tape them are going to be spun as either a hoax or fake news.
