But as it pertains to this thread, a poster tried to insinuate that black people being offended by being called a "boy" is something new and recent, which is either just flat out lying for the sake of lying, or just speaks to a bit of ignorance to not know that isn't remotely something new.
Some folks have trouble grasping that one thread can simultaneously involve several distinct discussions.
The insulting use of "boy" toward adult, Black men has been a fact of life for CENTURIES. To pretend otherwise is either ignorant or obtuse.
SHOULD the term still have the same connotation? That is an entirely different discussion.

Some dude tried to lump me in the "camp" as he called it about "muh boy" but I was really only pointing that fact. A poster insinuated it was something new, I said it was not. So yea, I'm in the "camp" that was factually correct, that poster really got me!!

Depends on if there is any beyond discretion offensive language a young black man could use on an old white man. If he’s just pummeling him the white guy can’t shoot but if he offends him, and it’s a prescribed word from the left, he can.
