Here's a round table discussion of a variety of NBA writers on star player most likely to get traded this offseason. LINK

Here's the list of players and how many writers listed them as the most likely to get traded:

Oladipo - 3
Beal - 2
Jrue - 1
Chris Paul - 1
CJ McCollum - 1
LaMarcus Aldridge - 1

This got me thinking about a Jrue for Oladipo swap believing he fits the Zion timeline better, but Oladipo is already 28, only 2 years younger than Jrue. It still could be a good trade for both teams.

- Indy gets a similar caliber player with lots of ties to Indy (2 brothers on team, wife is from there, they were the big offer he turned down in FA) so he'd agree to an extension
- Pels get a defense 1st scoring guard that's a few years younger and is at least in the same tier as Jrue, and many would argue is better than Jrue, although he is coming back from a major injury.

While i'd love Oladipo, what i really want is a guard who can play the pick and roll game perfectly with Zion/Hayes. Someone who can get to the rim or throw the perfect alleyoop and make smart decisions with that.
CP3 is the perfect guy for that, but i can't see a realistic trade that would work for him, or if i want to go that route with the team. I do like the idea of veteran leadership while our young guys grow.

I haven't watched Oladipo enough to know if he can do that effectively like i'd like. Same goes for Beal in that regards. Of course i'd like either of them for scoring purposes, but i feel confident in Ingram handling that role, and i'd like my other scorer that plays with BI and Zion to be that lead guard that can throw the alley oop or get to the rim or just in general make the right decision to start the offense. Jrue can do that, but he's so inconsistent with it.

If i trade Jrue away, i think i'd rather get back a veteran player and good future assets, and rebuild the team over the next few years around BI and Zion. I don't know how much of an upgrade Oladip or Beal are over Jrue when you factor in both sides of the court and a better a coach.

I definitely think Aldridge is going to get traded if DeRozen opts out of his player option. SAS would be in full rebuild mode. I'm not giving up a first round pick for him though.

If we are trading Jrue to Indy, I want Myles turner.

Not a chance. Oladipo knows Miami is keeping 2 max slots open in 21 free agency, he will be a 1 and done before he bolts for Miami. There will be far greater trade packages for Jrue.

Not a horrible trade but I see Griffin getting more if he does trade Jrue...

Wouldn’t a Jrue for Turner package make more sense?

CP3/Zion lobs would be so damn fun.

Jrue is the anchor of this team

Zion, Jrue, Ingram are untouchable.

What about a Jrue trade with another name from the list, CJ McCollum.

Something like Jrue and a smaller piece (either Melli or Miller) for CJ and Zach Collins.

Jrue would pair well with Dame, and CJ could operate as the starting PG here. CJ is in the 71st percentile as a pick and roll guard. To give an idea of what that means, Devin Booker and Lou Williams are just below him. Rose, Dragic, and Mitchell are some names just above him. Jrue comes in at the 36th percentile.

Collins would give you a stretch big that could start at the 5.

How would Trae Young look in a Pelicans uniform? Ok that’s super far fetched.
(Like I traded Jrue and Lonzo on 2k for Trae type of thing)

But if we’re able to get a 3rd star (this off-season) I would hope Beal is the target. I definitely think he could be the voice in the locker room and we need.

Beal-Ingram-Williamson combo would give the league nightmares. I’d be willing to pay close to Kings ransom.

None of the other players listed are the extreme needle movers I seek to pair with our boys. I may be sleeping in VO.

I think there is a chance Gobert Is on the block this summer too due to the conflict with Mitchell and other things. I hate everything about Rudy, but Favors showed Zion can function with a traditional center. I’m curious if he became available whether Griff would show interest.
