Pog was out front for a good portion of the day... finished 33rd of the 36 who had finished at the time they showed the graphic

I believe all dropped out of the race except Kuss. He came in 12 minutes down on Julian

Johan Bruyneel was on The Move today saying the UCI is looking at banning race radios.

This is crazy to me.

I think a full-out ban would be too much, but it be interesting to see the use of radios limited.

Perhaps only being able to use them at certain points in a race would make for a few more interesting results?
(Disclaimer: I know next to nothing about top tier tactics in professional cycling.)

Allaphillipe yesterday was wow. He did what he always and everyone knows he does. Took off on final climb and rode away to victory. Van Amermant had nothing for him and Hirschi finishing 3rd is great. The Slovenians tried to break it open on next to last lap using Pogacar as a SD for Roglic.

I love that they were using the Imola track to finish these stages though.

Knowing Imola so well it made bikes seem soooooo slow. Getting from the Parabolica to the start/finish line seemed to take forever.

Yes as he finished 2nd in ITT and Elite Road race this week. My mistake. I knew it was a Belgian with van in their name

Anyone that doesn't have Gold La Fleche-Wallone will be on NBCSN tomorrow at 2pm Central. I don't think the women's race is on any of the non-premium services.

It’s NBC... thou expecteth too much

eta: These guys HAVE to be suffering a bit. 3 weeks of The TDF, The World Championship T/T and R/R and now another stage race .. all in less than a month’s time.
Amazing.
Makes me wonder how conditioning will be if the world ‘decides’ to go back to normal next Spring/Summer and the regular schedule resumes. Their training and uh.. nutrition.. will all have to be recalculated yet again. Interesting year for sure.
That said, it warms my heart to hear from coworkers almost weekly that they can’t find a bike to purchase for themselves or a child, relative etc bc all local places sell out almost immediately. Not because they can’t get one, that’s ridiculous, but because cycling has gained so much attention and popularity this year. It’s addicting but healthy. Hope the trend continues.

I don’t remember what got me hooked on cycling in the first place, probably was the Tour de France, or maybe a French video I was shown in high school about the sport, was kinda weird though. But I actually don’t ride a bike that much or haven’t in years. But these races has encouraged me to at-least get on a spin bike more. I need to exercise a lot more

This is the first year I watched the entire Tour de France from start to finish. I at-least watch a portion of each stage! It’s enjoyable to watch a sport where you don’t have an emotional interest in who wins or at-least not a big interest. It’s nice to have with the way our local football teams have started this season.

BTW That is the case in many industries. Friend of mine had to buy a new engine for his party barge and they were running low on inventory because of COVID.

I've been doing 2am rides after I get off of work.
I enjoy it entirely way too much to not go.

I will bike 30 miles before choosing to run 2 miles. I got really into cycling about 4 years ago and dabble in some local races. I think it's hard to appreciate the TdF or other races if you know no iota of how tough and rigorous they are. These guys are freaks.

Same. I think my local bike guy was struggling a little before all this. I felt bad asking him to work on my Canyon because he made the comment how everyone had moved to the online model for buying bikes. I'm sure this boom gave him some security.

Shame about Mauri Vansevenant's crash. He actually might have had a shot. Even with the crash the peloton didn't catch him until 1.3km to go.

ETA:

1 Hirschi
2 Cosenefroy
3 Woods
4 Barguil
5 Martin
6 Kwiatkowski
7 Konrad
8 Porte
9 Pogacar
10 Geschke
