Saw on Fox News this morning...

Trump will speak from White House

A very elaborate and large grandstand was shown

There will be a massive fireworks show at the Washington Monument at the end of Trump’s speech

Honest question, why do people watch political party conventions? I understand watching debates because you want to see candidates spar and how they handle unexpected situations and questions on a wide range of issues. But, what is the appeal of watching canned speeches at a partisan convention? Are people just learning of these candidates for the first time? I understand that with Covid and the NBA protest there’s not much else on, but still. What is the draw to watching something like that?

This has been an outstanding RNC thus far.

The mix of politicians, organization leaders, and ordinary Americans has been great.

Republicans have successfully tied Democrats to rioting, violence, and lawlessness.

Fredo melted completely last night and said bull shite multiple times on the air.

The RNC has been a breath of fresh air from the wet blanketing the democrats have been doing for the past 3 years on just about everything. Those people are so miserable.

I watch it simply to see who is speaking and supporting the President and what they are specifically conveying as a message.

I looked forward greatly to hearing Nick Sandmann have his say regarding the media.

Many posters in the thread remarked that they had no idea that Trump had made getting American hostages home and had been successful in freeing about 50. Hearing some of the former hostages speak was very interesting.

I look forward to hopefully being inspired, as I absolutely was by Madison Cawthorn, Maximo Alvarez, and Chen Guangcheng.

I want to see how republicans respond to democrat and media attacks, as Pence did so effectively last night.

I look forward to seeing how beautiful Melania is.

I watch to hear the messages conveyed directly to me and not by or through the media.

Just off the top of my head.

For me, it's always been the pageantry of conventions. That is different this year since they are so scaled down and without live audiences for the most part but you still get introduced to rising stars in the parties and have a chance to hear about things you may not have otherwise known. For example, there being 50 hostages returned to the US during the Trump administration. For the normal American, who doesn't follow politics closely, yes they are just learning about the candidates and what they have done/stand for.

This convention has been just what the doctor ordered. Seeing libes acting like fools has just been glorious. They are bringing alot of the independents and borderline democrats over to the Republicans side.

Is he really speaking tonight? I was already a casual ufc fan, but if he really is speaking tonight I just might have to go all in on UFC.

By comparison, substance, and style, the RNC is annihilating the DNC.

Regardless of what BS the Ministry of Truth is parroting, I see POTUS DJT putting an absolute beat down on the Dims and their minions come November 3...

Those aren't fireworks. That is Nicole Wallace, Rachel Maddow, Joy Reid, Judy Woodruff, Yamiche Alcindor, Chris Cuomo, Don Lemon, David Axelrod, Gloria Burger, and David Brooks all losing their minds at the same time

Yes he is.

I just saw a clip of him on the news and the media asked him if he was worried about the impression he was giving to people by speaking for Trump. His reply: “I don’t give a frick what people think of me.”

It was nice of the leftist asshats in sports to cancel all their games today so the President's speech will draw more eyes.
