The bottom line is, cases like this to me are proof that colleges have zero business trying to conduct quasi-criminal inquiries into allegations of sexual assault. If these two girls were raped, it should've been reported to one place and only one place: the police department.

This side story seems like it’s taken out of context and connecting coach O to it is done just to get it more attention. Like, Coach O came up to a player and say “ey baw I heard your girl banged Guice! Don’t worry about it! Happens to all of us!” Lol

Is that the Coach O who has been convicted of assault and admitted domestic abuse with at least one partner? OK.

look i have railed on the Obama guildelines for years. i fully agree that the kangaroo courts were terrible and it's insane to me that the left criticizes Devos for changing things to make it somewhat far for the accused

but the rules at the time were clear. this wasn't some new policy, either. it had been around for years. LSU, allegedly, did not do a Title 9 investigation. if that's true, it's not defensible.

the other story is just mud slinging that has a lot fewer issues b/c it wasn't reported to the police or Title 9 department. i'm not excusing a potential rape, i'm just speaking from the LSU angle. also, the writer did that story no favors by clearly using muddy quotes in muddier context.

we don't really need to get into the possibilities with that situation. she didn't report it to LSU title 9 and it's not clear how/when the information got to the coaches. the author of the article says O spoke to the boyfriend but it's not clear when. the woman also said she spoke to players, not coaches.

That’s the quote everyone is going to latch onto, doesn’t really matter

Would this really surprise you though about Guice? I feel like a lot of posters on this board have stories about him from when he was on campus.

Thought it was because his wife got addicted to the pain killers after the surgeries?

the other apparently did and LSU did nothing. THAT is a HUGE problem, even if her claim is total BS. it's beyond the validity of the claim if no investigation occurred

I came here to laugh at the lakers losing and this kid what I get hit with? shite way to start my day!

This is about money. The burden of proof in any civil Title IX lawsuit or student conduct hearing is a preponderance of the evidence. The burden of proof in a criminal case is beyond a reasonable doubt. Based on the stories told by each woman in that article, they don't meet that requisite criminal burden of proof. So to preserve a potential monetary claim against LSU and Guice, they don't file a criminal complaint, yet have no problem suing everyone else they claim is responsible. If you're truly a victim, wouldn't you want to make sure Guice never did this to anyone else? Not these two.

I know why they didn't report it to police it just makes me skeptical it actually happened the way they say since they had no problem telling people (such as random players) about it not being consensual but didn't go to the police.

this is what I am most concerned about for LSU

Guice looks to be a POS, fine

Rapes/Drunken hookups, he said/she said (even though there is a good bit of cooberation from others)

but the fact that there were TWO seperate instances and no formal investigation on record....better hope there are no emails or official LSU correspondence because uh oh...in the times we are in, they might ban all mens sports and strap CEO nude to the hood of gloria alred's car and park it in the quad

Guice's issues go back to his days at CHS. I know of one specific incident involving Guice that was swept under the rug because of his profile.

Also, threads like this are when this place turns into a cesspool.
