Literally never realized or thought this.
Sounds like when my BIL tried to convince me that it was reasonable to ban the word "picnic" in company outings as there was a history of the word being short-hand for either "pickaninny" or "pick a n___" (for lynching).
It's all crap and should not be encouraged.

The tune of Turkey in the Straw originated a long time ago with square dances. Maybe square dances are racist because it's was pretty much just white people.
