Dallas earns lofty ranking in new study of America’s best cities

Buoyed by transportation, fine art, and Fortune 500 companies, Dallas ranks as the 14th best city in the country and one of the top cities in Texas.
The city isn’t just big money; it’s big on fun and culture, too.

The top 3 cities to live in according to the study are:
1. New York
2. Los Angeles
3. San Francisco
Study is shite. New York? Sure. Los Angeles? Get the frick out of here with that nonsense.

Monroe ranks 26th. It’s not as high on the rankings as Dallas for sure, but still is one of the best places to raise a family.

I’ve been to Dallas a few times. There’s nothing special about it. Everybody I know thinks it lacks culture.

Yea, they even have Portland in the top 25. Portland. The city that has been on fire for the last 3 months.
This is just a list of the biggest cities with each of them jumbled up a few slots.

No, a true Bostonian would never recognize an argument to be made for New York at #1.

84th, but I'd rather live here than most cities ranked higher.

Quality of life is subjective. Not everyone values the same things with regards to places to live. That's why these lists are always all over the place.
I'd rather live in Omaha than NYC at this point in my life.

Los Angeles is great if you aren't moving there fresh.
Fortunately we have property out in El Segundo that renta for good money. But screw paying 1.2 million cash for an older 2 bedroom house with a tiny yard.

I can't really argue the study. As much as I like living in Boise and wouldn't move to LA, I recognize that there are certain aspects of life that are present there on which Boise can't compete. Also, I'd like to live in NYC before I die. Even if it's just for a few months, I'd like to experience what that feels like. It's an experience that can't be replicated. At the same time, the cons of living long-term in places like those outweigh the pros. I'll take small-ish Boise and the foothills for now. Although those are getting more and more packed by the week.
