I feel like they're postponing to the spring just for fan service. Unless they're already working on logistics for a spring season, I don't see how it happens.

I also see tons of draft-eligible players opting out to prepare for the draft if somehow a spring season does happen.

Yea it’s not even possible unless you maybe start in Jan and go to March. You would need the NFL to agree to push things back.

Bet365 has prop bet available now.

Will any college football conferences have games played between March and May of 2021?

Yeah, its really not that difficult to expedite the season and cut down on BS games and bye weekends and get a football season in and have enough rest and recovery during the summer and then slightly delay a fall start.

Mediocre, cowardly leftists run many of the institutions in our society

I feel sorry for fans of OSU, Michigan, UW, etc.

I would much rather just straight up cancel and start fresh in fall 2021 rather than try to force a spring season

There wouldn't be a point to it, the turnaround for all of the players to either get ready for the NFL or next season will be a lot.

How can you say on one hand you're cancelling for player safety in the fall and in the other postponing when the virus isn't going anywhere AND play 2 seasons in one year which would cause way more injuries than covid could ever cause.

There is absolutely no way that the Big 10 could have spring football if the SEC/ACC/Big12 manage to play this fall.

Just don’t see how it’d would be possible to play ~10 games, and turn around in a couple months and start another season in the fall when 3 other major conferences had an offseason + spring practice.

Would be a logistical nightmare and would pose a much greater health risk than COVID ever could for student athletes.

No this is just them not wanting to cancel. They’re just kicking the can down the road.

^ Yep

Then assuming they even actually attempt to play in the spring, then we'll hear about the player safety argument. How can we expect these players to finish a grueling season in mid-late June then turn around and report for fall camp a few weeks later with almost no time for their bodies to rest and recover?

The Gameday crew is on ESPN right now just ripping the idea of a spring season. It is an absurd idea.

I live up here and you couldn’t pay me to go to a game at Wisconsin or Minnesota or Michigan in January. I know some lunatics do it when the Packers are deep in the playoffs so maybe it’s my southern roots but sounds miserable

It’s about as possible as a man in a red suit giving toys to every child in the world in 1 night

We’re not talking about traveling through time here.

Football games played in the spring is absolutely possible. Will it be weird? Sure. Will it cause some re-shuffling and coordination and a few headaches? Sure. Will some players sit out? Sure....But it’s absolutely possible. And with over $1 billion at stake, they’ll absolutely try to figure it out if it gets to that point.

Can't use long term health issues as a reason to postpone the fall season and then have college athletes play a Spring season followed by a Fall season a few months later.
