Come on, man. You know 99% of the people here don't get all that shite and people are just gonna ask questions.
If you're gonna post that kinda shite, then at least give some sort of better explanation so people understand what they're looking at.

Just a brief update on Marco. I've had just over an inch of rain since around 5AM....in north AL. That's around 1 1/2" since lunch yesterday.

Stronger flight level winds eventually work their way down to the surface if the storm stabilizes and/or continues to increase in strength. The back of the napkin math is a 10% reduction in flight level winds = surface winds, but that's not perfect. Regardless, it's the strongest flight level winds they've found so far, which is not a good thing.

HMON is the one that usually shows 220 mph hurricanes hitting Oklahoma huh?

As Laura gets closer to the coastline, keep an eye on the purple and pink wind barbs in these recon images. Those are the damaging winds. If they keep expanding outward from the center then more areas will obviously get that stronger wind when she makes landfall.
The winds in those areas will be less at the surface, but likely still strong TS force sustained with hurricane force gusts.
Right now, the purple is extending about 1.5 degrees of longitude to the east and north which is about 90 to 100 miles. That would be south of the east side of Lafayette if landfall was along the coast just to the west of LC.

So all the old people on my facebook feed are sharing a post that says that an offshore buoy just recorded a wave of 37.4 feet and that the biggest Katrina wave was 28ft.
Is this factual in anyway?

It’s gonna be windy like a motherfricker. That’s what it means.

Is there a halfway accurate formula to figure out what kind of gusts that would produce?
