we have a substantial tornado threat in Baton Rouge with the current Laura projection right?

Possibly. These are the tornadoes Rita produced the day it made landfall. Baton Rouge was right south of that corridor but they weren't produced near the coast. Every storm is different with how it produces tornadoes.

Any opinions of natchitoches as a place for the wife and kids to go? They have family there

s there any chart or site that shows how wide the storm will be when it comes to wind? With it strengthening at landfall wouldn't it be larger/wider in surface area?

The chart from the official guys over at the NHC

Book mark this link.

Any estimates on how big this is going to be size wise? I know I was hit harder here in Cental from Rita then I was Katrina.

Eta: thanks slackster. Was typing when you posted.

A bunch of my family went there for Rita. They had to ride out a TS in their hotel and then lost power.

We about to head to Pecan island to secure the camp. A little jog to the east and we have problems.

Yes. It should still be a Hurricane when it gets there.

but the special advisory was to knock off the tropical storm warning for NOLA

Still think it's odd that they just didn't wait until 4 pm to let it expire.

From Lake Charles?

I mean, it’s better than Lake Charles, but whatever hits you in Lake Charles is hitting there 6 or so hours later, albeit probably only 75% as strong.

East would be my recommendation. Lafayette is better than Nacthitoches on this track.

I rode down with my buddy to Grand Chenier to help him move stuff out of his camp. Needless to say he is sweating bullets right now.

I'm supposed to be looking at something in Lake Charles at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday - should I be worried or if i head back east at 10:00 a.m. will the storm still be out in the gulf?
