I was spitballing about the two additional SEC games in 2020.

I'm now told that a separate scheduling model - composed by the league office using strength of schedule - will determine the two additional opponents for 2020. twitter.com/RossDellenger/…

"If the league simply used the next two opposite-division rotation, it would disrupt the 2021 and 2022 schedules. Some are not in favor of such a model, thus a new scheduling model is expected to be used."

So I do think that it is fair and makes the most sense to do the schedule different than next two rotating. However:

I at the same time feel this.

As if it wasnt a problem before?

So does it help LSU SOS that we already play Florida? Basically does the board think we avoid UGA? Other than UGA not worried about who we play in the East!!

But they weren't worried about strength of schedule with LSU and Auburn having legitimate tests from their east opponents the last decade while Bama had a cakewalk with Tennessee.

How can you determine strength of schedule when nobody’s played a game yet? This better be 1) done by a computer formula and no human committee, 2) EXTREMELY transparent, and 3) with Sankey prepared to stand at a podium in front of a camera ready to explain the methodology and answer any questions that may be posed to him.

I understand not wanting to mess up future season schedules. I’d even be for something as random as drawing teams out of a hat. But when they invoke the completely subjective “strength of schedule,” we’ve got to know how that strength was evaluated, who evaluated it, and what metrics were used to evaluate it.

Well seeing how we had one of the toughest SoS in the entire country last season, we should get 2 fricking cupcakes out of the East
