LSP headquarters fingerprinting question

I went this morning to LSP headquarters in BR to get fingerprinted for Concealed Carry. After the technician took my fingerprints she told me I was free to leave. But I noticed that other people who got fingerprinted were told to sit and wait until there names were called.
What is the reason these people were getting fingerprints if not for Concealed Carry?

I've been fingerprinted and it wasn't for a CCL.

Do you make an appointment or just walk in and take a number? How long does it take to get called?
What time do they open if you know?
ETA: I have PTSD from going to the OMV there at HQ so I have to ask a lot of questions.

Full background checks maybe?
I remember having to go there years back for one.
Think it's a few questions, finger prints, then sit and wait.
IIRC once done, they print it and give it to you.

Probably work background checks. Funny story I worked at BRPD for a summer job back in the early 90's in the CIU unit that did background checks. Guy comes in for BG check, did the paperwork and left not long after handing it in. They did the background and he had a felony murder warrant out of FL. Every cop in the building ran out to the parking lot to find the guy. They eventually caught him at the Mcdonalds on Givt street in the drive thru.

was pretty painless actually. No appointment. Just walk in, right inside front door girl at desk asks the reason you are there. Told her fingerprint for CCP. She held a temperature sensor up to my forehead, and then gave me a neon green disposable bracelet to wear and told me to go back outside and wait by the brick wall right outside the door. Waited out there about 5 minutes and another woman opened the door and told me to come in. She directed me to a desk that was just for CCL fingerprinting. The girl there asked for my drivers license and a copy of my appication I printed when i finished my online application. (don"t forget to print the online application when prompted to do so and don"t forget your copy when going to get fingerprinted) I had to fill out a short questionare, paid $11.35 (NO CASH), and she sent me to the Figerprinting waiting room. I waited there about 5 minutes and the fingerprint tech called for me, she did her thing with the fingerprints and I was done.
Total elapsed time there was about 20 minutes. The employees there seem to be a lot more motivated than the OMV employees.
On the way back to Metairie i got an email from them that my application was accepted and a link to make payment.

Yup... They have to wait for the system to run the prints and produce a print out. Whoever sent them for the check will want a copy of that printout so they have to wait on it

Jesus. Did you at least make them print you out a bunch of copies of the FD-258 to have on hand?
I'm curious. Wasn't there somewhere closer you could have gone?

I've had to when we were in the adoption process. Get printed then go to the back for a lie detector test, full panel drug screen, rectal exam, personality test, blood work and waterboarding.

Could be any numbers of reason to get fingerprinted.
My son went for a pre-employment back ground check
He was in and out in 15 minutes. Didn’t have to wait for anything.
Two hours to go, two hours to come back.
But he did get the job

Foster Care and Adoption parents have to be fingerprinted for background checks.

There's an Identogo in New Orleans that could've done it as well.

Dude, you seem to have a problem with me going to BR to get fingerprinted.
As has been stated in numerous threads about CCL in Louisiana, if you get your fingerprints at LSP, you will receive the licence in weeks, as compared to months going to an outside source and mailing the prints in.
