It looks like there have been some talks about the Blue Jays playing their home games in Pittsburgh at PNC Park. I don’t have any idea how that would work but good for both parties if they can find a way to work it out.

If there will be no fans in the stands, does it really matter to the fans where games are played?

Probably not, but what exactly is the issue with Buffalo?

Is the difference between a AAA facility and a MLB facility that big?

Yeah, I'm puzzled as to why this is a deal-breaker for the Jays. Maybe the Buffalo facility does not have spacious enough locker rooms? that could be as they'll frame it as a safety thing but you know those major leaguers do like the luxury and that park may not have the perks that most major league parks do.

Supposedly Buffalo's AAA stadium has crappy lighting, smaller than MLB standard locker rooms, and lack MLB standard training areas.

Still, seems like they could suck it up for 60 games.

I guess the next option is just to use their Spring training facility in the Tampa area.

Pro athletes are such crybabies. They’re playing a sport they’re totally losing touch with what the average fan values and enjoys about watching sports.

Yes. Especially for amenities and facilities for the players.

Just to see if I have this correct...

Toronto City and Ontario Province say yes
Canadian Government say no
Blue Jays scramble
Buffalo no good because of clubhouse
Dunedin no good because of who knows and hot as fire
Pittsburgh willing but logistics may be hard
Cleveland is a no
MLB wont entertain Cary or NC wont allow

So we are not sure where the Jays will go....

And they are supposed to have a "home" opener a week from tomorrow.

I think if they can get into Cary that would be the best option. It is the US National Training Center. The MLB uses it for WBC training, it has a good stadium for Sr and College teams, it is close to fly to Charlotte or into directly Raleigh/Durham. That way you have great medical and other facilities that can be accessed.

Big thing about Cary and the NTC is no locker rooms/medical facilities on site. The field conditions are a very high quality and there's already camera set-ups in place for broadcasting games, which is a plus.

You sure about that? I've worked for USA Baseball and to my knowledge the highest level that uses it is the collegiate team. This past year for Premier 12 they did all their training in Arizona at Spring Training Facilities.

Oh there’s way more than just appearance - Trudeau’s mom was bipolar and known to have slept around. She was acquainted with Castro around the time JT was conceived.

I haven't read the rest of the thread so apologies if someone else already brought this up but can someone explain the logic the Canadian government is using here?

So bringing in American baseball players for three days to play a game outdoors that has relatively little physical contact is too dangerous because of Coronavirus. However it is perfectly okay to have American hockey players staying in Toronto (and Edmonton) for six to eight weeks playing a game indoors with lots of physical contact?
