This entire "movement" is one big confirmation that...

"Spare the rod, spoil the child" was skipped for a generation and now we are reaping the consequences.
"Children who are given everything rarely accomplish anything" was one my gramps used to say.
In about 1989 parents decided that the entirety of human history, literally every person before them, raised their kids wrong, so they were gonna do it right. Congrats. See what being easy on your kids got us?
Thank god my mom called me stupid and lazy at the drop of a hat, because I spent most of my early career proving that kunt wrong. Thankful actually.

Yep, it's the fruition of the "everyone gets a trophy" generation...

This.
I have an uncle who openly bragged that his kids won't have to do all the hard work he had to do, they'll live better lives.
His oldest was in and out of drug rehab for years.
You don't have to have them on a chain gang at age 8, but giving them literally everything is just as harmful.
There's a happy balance with letting kids be kids but also teaching them the value of hard work, self accountability, and how to perceive failure.

Agreed, and it's hard to blame the kids. Of course a kid wants a trophy. The parents should know better, they should have never bought into that bullshite.
You want a trophy? Practice more. Or, recognize that you might not be that good at that particular thing. Find your strengths.

Yep. You are seeing what happens when you never tell your children "No" and never allow anyone else to tell them no, either.

Bar none, my richest and/or most liberal relatives easily had the most problems with their kids growing up. I'm 36.

People never appreciate anything they did not have to work for plain and simple. They have never truly worked hard an failed then worked harder to achieve something. They are finding out they are colossal failures in life and their only recourse is to throw a tantrum and try and destroy the country.

Simplistic explanations are stupid and lazy.

The best adjusted well rounded children I have met over the years, who grew up to be outstanding adults, were raised with discipline and Sunday school.

Strange that you would have a picture of a "lynch mob" from the turn of the 19th century at your disposal.
On sencond thought, no it's not.

I have a 20 yr old niece(only child) who doesn't understand the word no, and cries like a 4 yo when you don't share. Her GF (BiL's dad) called her a spoiled rotten worthless brat, and got banned from interaction with her. She wasn't raised by parents, she was raised by a f'ing book.

Gonna assume GF means godfather and not....never mind

As if there hasn’t always been sociopaths, evil people, degenerates, psychopaths, killers, and the like, huh? Considering comparative numbers, and the fact that at present we have between 20 and 40 percent of the socialist democrat party advocating, and even violently pushing a philosophy that’s responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths, I say the rod most likely thinned the shite out of that generation’s trash.

What an asinine comparison. You're a DA!

PT Board is on fire tonight!
Solutions to the world’s problems include waging war on our own countrymen and now child abuse.
Good grief.

Have you been in jail, or under a rock for the last 4 years or so? Our so called countrymen, who hold absolutely none of our beliefs, principles, or philosophies, have been waging war on us. We are just discussing at what point we respond to the attacks.

While you’re right that some people fall in this category, I’d be willing to bet that you have more in common with more of your countrymen than you think.

waging war on us
Hyperbole. Unless you’re a drug cartel member, a pedophile, a Taliban supporter or the like, nobody is waging war on you.
