Driving on hwy 231 early one morning for work I was t-boned by a driver coming from a side road. He fell asleep at the wheel and plowed into my car causing it to flip twice. I never saw him until impact and I blacked out only to wake up with people screaming and my car leaking gas I had to get out but no one could get to me. I somehow pulled myself together enough to crawl through the wreckage which at that point was squarely in the woods.
Only part of the car not obliterated was the little space I was sitting in. The hood and frame was smashed like a recycled soda can. They never even found my passenger side door. It ended up in the woods somewhere. My car was 87 yards from the spot of impact.
Amazingly I got cut up and bruised badly but didn't break a single bone. The nurse cried when they brought me in and asked if we could pray because I shouldn't have been alive. She said the EMTs sent her pictures of the car and that God must have saved me. I believe it. State trooper who came to the hospital said every accident he had seen like mine was a fatality.
I feel blessed to be alive every day since then. It can all be taken from you in an instant.

I got sideways on a tractor coming down a steep hill in the woods once. Panicked and hit the clutch instead of the brake and almost rolled it. Not sure how it didn't roll over on me. Had to hop off and smoke a couple cigarettes to regain my composure.

Climbed a fourteener and was a little hypoxic. As I walked around looking for the best view, I heard some people gasp. Apparently I came about a half an inch from walking off a cliff.

Late one night, I decided to swim across the LSU lake by the fraternity houses. I was fully clothed and even had my shoes on because who knows what is in that lake. I was doing okay for a while and then got tired; real tired. I honestly thought I was going to drown so I decided to try to just tread water and take off my shoes so I’d have a better shot at surviving. When I went from a flat swimming position to a vertical position to tread water, my feet hit the bottom. The lake was maybe 3 feet deep at most. I stood there for a while and then trudged back to shore.
Sobered me up quick!

Just got my license and boy was I stupid and reckless back then. Driving down Harrell’s Ferry road(back when it was just 2 lanes with steep ditches on either side) Between Sharp and Sherwood Forest. It was raining cats and dogs and I decided to pass the car in front of me. Low and behold what do I see but a 1980’s Diesel Suburban 2500 headed straight for me and closing much faster than I anticipated.
I ought to have braked and got back into my lane, but instead I floored it and was by the grace I’d God able to get ahead of the car I was passing and back into my lane with maybe a couple car lengths to spare. So, so stupid. That experience mellowed my arse out REAL quick.

We lived on a fairly busy residential road growing up with a speed limit of 25, but the type of road people speed on. My brother and I were racing bikes at around 10-11 years old with my mom behind us walking. We knew to stop and let the car pass, but neither of us let up. He hit my back tire and I fell into the oncoming car’s lane. My mom said the tire missed my head by about 1’. I was shaken up from the fall, oblivious to the fact my ticket almost got punched, and she freaked the the frick out from almost seeing my head squished by a car tire.

Airline crash, plane ran off the end of the runway. The evacuation was chaotic with all screams and noise. No one was killed and the only injuries were from people hurt going down the slides.

Five years old. Hanging on some rebar jutting out from a bulkhead along the Ross Barnett reservoir. Decided to see what would happen if I let go, then... gravity... spash... into the deep water I went.
Bone-thin me back then was a sinker, and I sunk. To this day I still remember peacefully looking at the sun's rays through the water, and the sound of the Navy-vet who jumped in after me. Fortunately I do not remember him having to punch me out (from me try to claw up him to air).
All I remember is waking up to people standing around me and my Mom screaming. To this day I cannot get far enough away from water.
TL/DR: almost drowned.

Two different scenarios-
1) Was traveling in a Ford Fiesta with 2 buddies down the interstate to go play golf one day. Run into a sudden downpour and the road is slick. Driver changes lanes and we hydroplane. End up doing 2 1/2 spins and finish about 5 feet from hitting a bridge support. I'm in the back seat with no seat belt.
2) Out on the golf course and another sudden storm pops up. Heading into the clubhouse and a tree directly in front of me gets hit by lightning. Tree drop across the cart path 5' behind my cart. About 2 seconds later and I'd have been crushed.

Cleaning up a pipeline ditch when the foreman screams "Get outta the hole!"
Scrambled out of the ditch second to last, reached back to help the guy behind me, and a big ball of flame shot out of the pipe, extending most of the length of the ditch.
Thank God for radios.

Passed out and drove off the road along a lake bank and hit a tree head on. Broken femur, collapsed lung, lacerated liver and kidney, head caved in the windshield and had like 32 stitches and 24 staples in my head.

I was flying a kite when I was around 12 or 13 with some buddies. The kite gets wrapped around the power lines. My dumb arse decides that yanking it with full force will get it out.
By doing this, two lines touched each other and made a huge flash and bang. Whole block’s power goes out.
My dad beat my arse like you would not believe. Matter of fact I heard his leg rest slam down from outside.
