Lee Greenwood is a hack. He tried to stipulate in his contract he would also get to sing the latest single he was promoting.

They did that a few years in a row. I remember seeing the GG in that getup for the Armed Forces Game in ‘07. The band played Grand Ole Flag.

It was, beyond a doubt, one of the halftime shows from 1969-1972, because I was in it. LOLOL Seriously, though, Mr. Swor and Mr. Edmunds were the BEST!

Why Latin Flair, of course.

South Louisiana humidity vs Tennessee, September 2005. Never been hotter in my life and apparently neither had the Tigahs.

Sept 11, 2011. Band removed their hats and played Amazing Grace in tribute to an LSU alum who lost his life on 9/11. You could hear a pin drop in Tiger Stadium. The most quiet I’m ever heard it.
Weird you’d pick that time and not the time that it was copied from which was the first home game after 9/11.

Jacksonville State a few years ago. They brought the entire 450 member band and did their "Military" Show; only performed about 1/4 of the show because of time limitations.
The "Full" show is awesome, as was the abbreviated show in Tiger Stadium.
Their "Sound" was unbelievable as well. I've never heard another college band put out that kind of volume. (Decibels and quality of Sound)
Poor little Tiger Band didn't know what hit them.
It was like the band version of that 56-3 LSU vs Florida game in Tiger Stadium back when Spurrier was in his Prime. (And LSU wasn't)

A lot of those "anti American frickers" are the players you so dearly love.

Because the later version included the removal of hats (and it sounded much better). The later version also included a local family that lost their loved one on that terrible day.

Greenwood is certainly not a "hack." All you have to do is to look at his longevity and success to realize this. I was at that game and EVERYONE in the stadium was on their feet at the end! I remember he performed at pregame and halftime and the stadium was electric.

The halftime performance of Amazing Grace that very first game after 9/11 was easily the greatest performance in Tiger Stadium history simply due to emotion and all of TS being dead silent for the duration of that tune. It was eerie and wonderful at the same time. I get chills just thinking about it.
I was there!
Was awesome.
In other news Rex Grossman just threw for another Gator first down on us. He absolutely crushed us in that game.

Swor was an amazing director. His arrangements were used by bands all over the country. Probably the best years of the GBFTL.

They did that in 2001 too. That’s where Roy got that idea from.

He was dead for the 2001 show too.
