The latest on the state flag of Mississippi

They're thinking the religious leaders' statements whipped up enough votes to go to a vote on Thursday or Friday. If that works, they're going to use the bicentennial banner w/ just the state seal as a temporary solution, like so:
A committee will be established and four alternate flags will be presented via refrerendum.
The Stennis Flag:
The Magnolia Flag (original flag of the state):
And two new options to be selected by the committee. There is some nervousness about using the Bonnie Blue star, because many think that any nod to the Confederacy could put us back in the mess in a few years.

Update the magnolia tree design and go back to the original flag, would be nice.

I say just put a bunch of dingleberries on a piece of construction paper and call it a flag.

Magnolia one looks pretty good.

The first flag looks too similar to Missouri. The Stennis flag is hideous.

Top one won't work. The eagle's head is white.

That last flag looks more authentic confederate than the one they have now. just replaced the stars and bars with Bonnie Blue, and added a magnolia.

Should just go with a white flag, as they are surrendering to the PC crowd.

This was stupid 20 years ago and remains just as stupid.

Texas is the Lone Star State. All these flags showing a single star is idiocy.

How dare religious leaders to get involved when they said NOTHING about gay marriage or the abortion clinic in Jackson. Don’t pick and choose your culture battle.

Those “religious leaders” need to lose tax exemption status then. If you want to comment on affairs that impact the taxpayers, it’s time for you to pay in as well.

Bi-racial, same indeterminate gender couple, holding hands at a judicial bench desk with a rainbow overhead.
Be almost enough virtue signaling, but as always, never quite enough to shut up some dysfunctional insanity outrage minority.

Flags with state seals on the are the most unoriginal pieces of shite you can have.

Especially since that religious leader uses a completely false sentence in his argument like we force kids to salute the Mississippi flag in schools. I went to public school here my entire life and my wife is a teacher and I’ve never heard of saluting the state flag in any situation.

Makes me sick that these pussies won’t put it to a public vote. Fairest way to vote for changing the flag. I need to buy a few before it gets changed

You would be better off with just a magnolia leaf on the flag instead of an entire tree. Much like Canada does. And it doesn't need to be more than 3 colors. That current magnolia flag is 4 colors which is one too many. Get rid of the red stripe or change it to a blue one. And never ever put a seal on a flag.
The five Principles are:
1. Keep It Simple. The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory.
2. Use Meaningful Symbolism. The flag's images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it symbolizes.
3. Use 2 or 3 Basic Colors. ...
4. No Lettering or Seals. ...
5. Be Distinctive or Be Related.

Its one of, if not the best, looking state flags in my opinion.
These other ideas look like wet dog shite.
