Yes but see Mississippi can finally move forward after this right? We will finally be viewed as not racist right?

Makes me sick that these pussies won’t put it to a public vote. Fairest way to vote for changing the flag. I need to buy a few before it gets changed

But it’s already been voted on! When do conservatives get to keep their wins and gains like leftist wins? We have to vote again because the outcome wasn’t achieved. Utter bull.

Weird how Mississippi is "so racist" yet has the highest black population of any state per capita and it isnt particularly close as well as the most black elected officials of any state.

The flag isn’t ever an issue until white liberals and white rinos make it an issue. Stirs up the national media like crazy.

Exactly the flag could be anything now and nothing changes here. People will pat themselves on the back and then it’ll be on to another thing we can correct so we can be stuck in last or next to last in almost every measure.

Especially since that religious leader uses a completely false sentence in his argument like we force kids to salute the Mississippi flag in schools. I went to public school here my entire life and my wife is a teacher and I’ve never heard of saluting the state flag in any situation.

It wasn't false.

The state constitution requires it. I had to do it. They stopped several years ago but its still technically law.

For the next 100 years, we will be the state that “changed a confederate flag in 2020”

Nothing will ever be good enough

The five Principles are:
1. Keep It Simple. The flag should be so simple that a child can draw it from memory.
2. Use Meaningful Symbolism. The flag's images, colors, or patterns should relate to what it symbolizes.
3. Use 2 or 3 Basic Colors. ...
4. No Lettering or Seals. ...
5. Be Distinctive or Be Related.

Doesn’t the current flag meet those principles?

Where are you from and how old are you? Because I’m 35 and I’ve never seen nor heard of it. Genuinely curious.

Wow, maybe you should read up on the history of the Bonnie Blue Flag "SEC7070".

Should just use the flag of Christianity and add a red vertical stripe to the end.

43, Northeast Mississippi. The pledge is law under MS Code § 37-13-7. Its just not enforced.

I did it through at least junior high. As I recall, it stopped about the time Georgia was going through its change to get ready for the Olympics and it was starting to heat up in Mississippi.

No. That part of the flag is not just a Texas thing.
There is evidence that Texas got the lone star aspect of it's flag from the lone star flag of the West Florida Republic (1810). A lone star in a blue field was a thing before Texas became a state and adopted it into it's state flag.
