Wow. JESUS got a down vote. You and any other down voters can rot in hell.
Seriously. Even I you are an atheist, Jesus Christ was an actual historic figure and preached love, tolerance, and forgiveness.

Seriously, maybe those downvotes are for the people here that act polar opposite to the historical Jesus.

Actually he will judge them very kindly. He is very sad when people use free will to reject the Good.

The staying power of Jesus is his message of LOVE, tolerance and forgiveness/mercy. To the degree that people or Nations of all Religions and Political Ideologies manifest this love, society will prosper. To the degree that they manifest Love's opposite...they will fail.
Jesus will not need to come with "a sword' - to prevent a Mankind that for whatever reasons, reject His Gospel of Love - from destroying each other. We won't be able to blame Jesus for the utter calamity that looms; but true Believers had better hope that He jumps in, after the Prophecy of 2/3s of Humanity being lost is fulfilled, and "for the Elect's sake" (people who desire love)…"these days shall be shortened".
We all see it coming; and We will readily engage, to fight for our particular and 'righteous' cause. Said 'cause' being little more that protecting the vulnerable and beloved souls in our own circle of loving responsibility. How many of us are going "turn our cheek"...and crawl up on "our cross", for reward in the next life? Let me guess...less than about .0001%. And about a month into the exponentially snowballing
catastrophe...we'll all wish we had engaged in honest talk, based in LOVE, instead of being driven by the
blindness and lack of true vision that fueled our
hatred.
"Where there is no vision, my people die"; "behold, I will send them the spirit of blindness...". Die-off
coming...minus extraordinary action. Would be prudent to give honest talk and compromise between two sides who BOTH claim to serve Love.
Live and learn. Lord have mercy.

Many versions, all unconvincing but none as bad as the Christian god's: "Believe in me or burn in Hell for eternity."
Wow, what freedom we've been given!
