I always thought the catholic concept of purgatory was a comforting one. While it is completely baseless in scripture, it solves the moral dilemma of what happens to people who are decent, but not perfect, flawed but not evil. It creates a framework where heaven and hell are for the best of the best in both directions and those in the middle can earn their way into either one. It provides opportunities for redemption even after death. It’s definitely a comforting philosophical tool, don’t you think?

Even if you consider, "Go" as "You go",(which is implied), it is still shorter.
Also many of the conjugations of "to be" are shorter.

You are
He is

They are

There exists even grammatical discussions over where, utterances such as "Hi" are complete sentences.
Not wanting do degenerate into such discussions, it is certainly understood, to be complete, by those who say or write it.

The standard for communion with God is perfection. We need to be absolutely perfect in our obedience to the law because that is what God has set as the standard. When we sin even once, we are no longer "good". Even the "good" things we do, if we don't do them by faith in Jesus, God doesn't accept them as acts of righteousness.
That's precisely why Christ had to become a man, obey the law perfectly on our behalf, and die an unjust death, so that He could be our representative and He could take on the penalty that our sins deserve. Christ is the solution to the problem of sin. His righteousness is the only that the Father accepts because His righteousness is the only righteousness there is.
Purgatory is a doctrine that denies the sufficiency of Christ's atoning work on the cross for sinners. If you can work your way to salvation, you don't need Christ's righteousness imputed to you and you don't need His mediatorial work on your behalf.
The solution is Christ: all need to put their trust in Him for salvation because no one comes to the Father except through (faith in) Him.
