You think a border issue in Kashmir that has only been an issue for 70 years is the root cause of the tension between India and Pakistan?

frick it. Let them war if they want to. America doesn’t need to get our nose in any more bullshite. That’s their shite. Absolutely nothing to do with the US. Let em fight if they want to.

This is a very popular and very foolish point of view. China intends to become the first nation in the world. From that position it will dictate trade terms to every other nation including the USA. This will affect YOUR living standards in a negative way. To put it plainly, you will be poorer.

The USA should lead the rest of the world in a trade alliance that neutralizes China until, and unless, they become a true democracy.

How is this any different than what’s been going on there for decades? Has no one been paying attention?

It's among one, as the province is rich in resources, and was the only majority Muslim province to remain in India, while the others went to Pakistan (both East and West) if I recall.

The Pakistan-India situation could go in multiple directions. If not for the Pakistani Security State, and the Indian Hindutva movement, which feed into one another, Pakistan would be an easy site for Indian excess industrial capacity, which is instead going to Bangladesh, while Pakistan is getting China's excess capacity.

Pakistan, Iran, and North Korea are team China.

Does India have any allies? I know Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea hate China, but do they like India enough to risk their skin? Russia is a big economic partner of India, but Russia also has deep ties to Pakistan and Iran. Maybe Myanmar and Bangladesh? Vietnam, The Philippines, and Indonesia all have beefs with China as well. That’s a lot of bodies that could get thrown around in a regional war. That’s over half the global population.

Iran

Iran and India have defense and trade arrangements, with India reaching out to ensure it doesn't get encircled in Central Asia, cutting off access to West Asia. Iran would more than likely sit out any potential conflict.

Russia has historically been closer to India, with India being supplied mostly by Russian defense companies.

The reality is that China has agreements with all the same potential allies that India does, and unless India starts increasing its foreign aid and investment, it's unlikely those arrangements can be undone quickly. India will most likely reach out to Commonwealth nations as well as the US, in the event of an actual prolonged conflict.

This might be the dumbest statement that I’ve ever read on the OT.

Except the present Commandant is an idiot. The typical grunt who can't understand anything more complex than an e-tool. You should never let an infantry type be in charge of anything.

Would you prefer it be run by accountant/bureaucrat types? Tell us about your ideal Commandant, would you?

Well, he is a Tulane grad. But he is reorientating the Corps in the most radical way in 50 years.

I'd have an airedale, tanker or cannon cocker as Commandant.
