Amazon is reportedly considering removing the immensely popular 1970s series “The Dukes of Hazzard” from its streaming library as it reviews its content offerings in the wake of racial tensions and protests happening throughout the U.S.

The TV series ran on CBS for seven seasons from 1979 until 1985. It follows the adventures of Bo and Luke Duke, who create mischief in their fictional small town of Hazzard County, Ga. The show has been criticized over the years, specifically for the boys’ well-known car, The General Lee, which is emblazoned with a confederate flag on the roof.

As a result, Bloomberg reports that the popular streaming service is thinking about removing it so as not to court any controversy with the ongoing movement happening throughout the U.S. Amazon currently offers “The Dukes of Hazzard” both for free on its ad-supported streaming service, IMDB TV, as well as for sale on the Amazon store.

It is important that these things are removed so that we can convince ourselves they never existed in the first place.

So now we're censoring art. Shouldn't this be something the liberals should be getting their undies in a wad over?

But it's not the right kind of art. So it doesn't count.

They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up."

They aren't liberals. They are progressive totalitarians.

And I don't think they'd be doing this if we still had books around to burn. Harder to ignite an e-copy of Atlas Shrugged.

If some would take the time to actually watch the show they would note that it often had AA guests and that they were treated as equals by the Dukes. This is beyond ridiculous.

This is just getting ridiculous.

What is Amazon afraid of, honestly?

Do they really think that people will start boycotting their services for streaming a TV show from the 1980s? Most Amazon customers lose their mind when they can't get Two-Day Amazon Prime shipping on an item, and Amazon thinks they're going to lose all these customers overnight.

The point is, film and tv is a form of art...and the Hollywood types love to think of themselves as artists and storytellers. This should have them completely up in arms. This, and the Paw Patrol thing.

I used to watch the show religiously as a kid, and not once did I think Bo and Luke were racists. It goes back to what I always say on her about INTENT...in that show there was none.

Facts are irrelevant to the cause.

Facts? Who gives a shite about facts?

We have to fight racism. We demand equality. So if you’re white shut the frick up and accept that you’re less than anyone else

I remember the thrill of watching scrambled porn because I knew I wasn't supposed to be doing it. I wonder if kids 20 years from now will get that same thrill from watching bootlegged DoH reruns

At least they’re honest.

“There’s really nothing wrong with the show, we just don’t want any controversy.”

Someone should create a network with Movies and TV series that have offended the liberal left and charge a premium subscription for it.

I suspect the amount of people that would be willing to pay for it would be pretty substantial.

The melts would be glorious.
