Shams Charania on potential Bradley Beal trade: The Heat were a team that had interest. The Heat, the Lakers, New Orleans… Those are teams that I’ve heard.

Personally, I’m not seeing the fit if Zion and Ingram are you’re 1,2 scoring options.

Not a fan of the cost to acquire either

Would rather keep Ingram and assets vs flipping them

Pretty sure we arent interested but we are the lazy plug in due to having a giant war chest

We'll have to give up a whole helluva lot to get Beal in a trade. I think everybody but Zion and Ingram would be available for him.

I think they'll try to ask for Jaxson Hayes in the trade and I wouldnt want to part with his potential.

How many years does Beal have left on his contract? This offseason could be the year to sign new guys to contracts. Especially with the cap projected to be much smaller.

Beal wants to stay in DC anyway.

As with anything, it depends on the deal, but a lot of players around the league consider Beal in the borderline elite company of players, just on a spectacularly shitty team.

Put him in a Ball/Beal/Ingram/Zion/? lineup and you've got some ridiculous firepower.

I would like someone who fits the Zion timeline a little better.

At the moment, Zion isn't a guy you are or need to run your offense through. Zion's game has maturing to do both offensively and defensively. The best part about Zion is that he can effect the game and enforce his will in so many ways without running the offense through him. By the time Zion reaches the peak of his powers, Beal would be on the backside of his prime. Beal and Ingram can shoulder the offensive load while Zion temporarily becomes the best 3rd option in the league. If we do trade for Beal, this probably signifies the end of Jrue as a Pel. There is no way you can resign Jrue to a long extension, pay Beal, and whatever we are about to pay Ingram and Ball.

I just want my young team to grow. We have so many great young pieces. Can’t we just let them develop a bit before making a move that may not fit?

The old guard (Dealin’ Dell) would make this play. Hopefully Griff doesn’t fall prey to the same mistakes.

I don't have a strong opinion on whether Beal is the right fit here or not. What I do know is this:

1) Of course it makes sense for Griffin to nose around and get involved with the bidding for any potential trade for a top-20 player. We are one of the few teams with the chips to make a big trade, so of course we should and will be involved in those discussions.

2) I think Griffin will have to think that he is winning a potential trade by a good bit for him to pull the trigger now.

The only reason to make a blockbuster trade right now is if you think that we are ready to win a title next year, and Beal is the missing piece. Otherwise, it makes more sense to wait, because guys like Jaxson Hayes, Didi, and NAW could be worth a lot more next year if they develop. There will be other potential trades next year and the year after, so again Griffin has to get a lot of outsized value to make such a trade right now.

According to Windhorst, Nets and Wizards are lining up a deal to trade Beal to the Nets. He said it on the Lowe Post Podcast
