People are somehow hemorrhaging money. The friends I have who sell fishing and hunting stuff are the busiest they've ever been

Just from not eating/drinking out, not buying gas, and not passing by academy or Home Depot on the way home from work, I’ve saved* a ton of money. That’s probably even more so for people with kids, and they got a stimulus check last month.

* - I spent it all on fishing shite, but I would imagine that explains a good bit of what we’re seeing now. With interest rates being low, terms long, and people looking to see a few extra grand in their checking account, toys are selling.

Arkansas. Town of about 10k people. About 35k in our area. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. Wrote a total of 155 Auto policies, 39 Fire polices, 19 Life policies and 2 health policies. That's more than 2 normal months production.

My buddy Mike owns the place. I was there this morning dropping off my Phoenix for some P.M. maint. He was swamped at 8:00 in the morning. He said it's been like that for a couple of months now. He is having a hard time keeping up.

I’ve been calling dealerships around my house trying to trade my 200hp Yamaha and a complete gatortail rig for a Yamaha 250. The few places I’ve called are smaller but are selling so many boats they have no interest in my deal.

I had a hell of a time finding one. I'm sure the guy could have sold it for 10k more but just went off the blue book when he listed it. Had to buy a power pole from academy because no place that installs them can get them for a month. Have to install it myself and unbolt the motor because the shops won't install if you didn't buy it from them.

Even called Henderson's in Lake Charles who said they don't have any more party barges or ski boats left to sell and can't get any from around the state because of the demand.

Good...maybe they will have time to finally fix the Mercury on my Kenner.

Wanna buy another Kenner?

Normal busy month for me is 40 boat, sold over that number March and April, then May it was almost 100, no sports, no vacation, nothing to do, buy a boat.

Plus lots of wealthy folks use their boat a handful of times each year now they've had nothing to do, they are at the lake every week and they finally have time off work to slow down, visit a dealer, research online, its a perfect storm of cheap money, time to shop and motivation to buy!

I been thinking of getting an old Sea-Craft, Aquasport, Mako in the 22' range and repowering it.

ETA; why you dumping an engine with only 5 hours? I seem to recall you partial to Mercs?
