We have been looking for a leisure boat to have for the camp and figured with the high unemployment, turn in the oil field, and corona dealers would be begging to make a deal on boats. WRONG.

Went to three local dealers and there are almost no inventory left. Even called Henderson's in Lake Charles who said they don't have any more party barges or ski boats left to sell and can't get any from around the state because of the demand.

What's the deal? Everyone decided to cancel their Disney World trip and buy a boat

Plenty of free time

Summer is here baw. Buy your boats in the winter time.

Everyone needed an excuse to get out of the house. Fishing/boating was one of the few options available. I went on blind river in April and it was unbelievable how packed the boat launch parking lots were. Same thing going on with bicycles. You can barely find one available and all the bike repair shops are full to the brim with repair jobs fixing people's old rusty bikes that were sitting in their garages and storage sheds. Meanwhile I'm having hell trying to sell a camper.

Cajun Outboards is selling boats like they are McDonalds Hot Cakes. Everyday it seems they are making post that they sold another boat. I saw one yesterday where a couple traveled from Florida to buy a Skeeter at Cajun Outboards.

Everyone gets boat fever in May leading up to Memorial Day, this year it was just especially bad because boating was one of the few recreational activities that was actually made easier with covid. The oil field and small businesses are hurting, but a lot of people have more money in their pocket than they’re used to because they haven’t been spending as much while shut in, and the stimulus provided a lot of down payments.

The time to watch will be after Labor Day. A good many of these purchases were impulse buys and as hunting season approaches people shift gears. As things get back to normal should be a few folks looking to unload the boat that they didn’t use as much as they thought they would, is a pain paying for every month now that the wife is back to getting Starbucks on the way to work every morning, and selling it would pay for a new side by side to haul corn in.

That's the plan. I just thought it was really surprising. I also saw that one of our local auto dealerships had their best month in the last two years. People must order a shite load of Starbucks

There will be some deals to be had around October of 2021 when folks realize they have used that thing maybe 10 times in the last 2 years.....they make great catchers of pine straw but there are far cheaper ways to collect pine straw...most boats are the equivalent of a exercise bike...great plans in the beginning, then life intervenes and the thing winds up being sold for pennies on the dollar...

Every one is out and about apparently.. hell, it took me 5 stops to find new golf cart batteries! The guy told me he’s never sold so many in all his life.

Lil Kemo bought a used on last week for $40 that looks new. Lemme know if you want to borrow it.
Buddy has a western store in LC and he can’t get boots or jeans yet. Fishon tackle is stocked up and doing a booming business for three months.

Ditto. I might write 5-8 boats/campers/side by sides (each) a month on average. I insured 27 boats last month and 32 new campers, and 42 side by sides. I didn't have time to breathe.
