This, wouldn't be surprised if they have some Bots pumping up those numbers
Their Model 3 and Model Y popularity has made them a bigger luxury car brand than Acura or Infiniti. They will surpass Cadillac this year if they haven't already. As Model Y production ramps up, they could be threatening BMW and Mercedes-Benz within a few years.
I wouldn't underestimate Tesla.
But I also think people are putting deposits down on multiple Cybertruck models/configurations because they don't know what's coming first. They'll cancel the one they don't want later.

Pretty sure I saw that little commie truck in all of the Pixad movies. Little mega blocks arse truck.

Yeah those delivery dates are pretty suspect if they don’t even have the factory built yet.
I know all the Musk fanboys think he is a miracle worker but construction doesn’t happen overnight.
I wouldn’t buy a Tesla because:
-Parts availability is terrible especially for collision damage. You can’t just order a part, have to go through the Mothership and start a support case just to get a part.
-Tesla controls your vehicle and can shut off features as they see fit. Salvage cars have had supercharging shut off by Tesla.
-Very expensive to insure and repair and easy to total in collision damage.

Its a $100 deposit. Elon fan boys will send $100 just to pump the numbers.
Every share holder should be invested in a pre order.

Better view of the Hummer EV

That doesn't look bad at all. Not quite as polished as the Rivian, but light years better than the Tesla.

That's a good looking truck. What is the MSRP?

wouldn't necessarily help when they all pull out and they manufactured all these trucks for nobodies.

the absurdity of the Telsa is what appeals to me
I would absolutely buy one if I had the extra cash just laying around

GMC is showing it starts @ 70k

Plan to lift mine and constantly tailgate.

Absolutely, and you're not alone. The Cybertruck is going to sell ridiculously well.
Just my opinion, but I'd much rather have the absurd spaceship truck than the futuristic Nissan Frontier. Part of that may be that I don't find modern pickup designs all that appealing anyway so a radical change is fine with me.

If I’m gonna drive something that ugly, it better evade radar as well as a B-2 Bomber.

My biggest concern with an electric truck has always been charging the battery. I mean if I tow my boat from Covington down to Venice or Cocodrie where the hell am I going to charge the battery while fishing?
Supposedly the range of the Tesla Model X collapses when towing. I imagine that the bigger electric trucks (Rivian, Cybertruck, and Hummer) will have MASSIVE battery packs that also weigh the vehicles down enough to qualify as EPA exempt.
Interestingly enough, fleet-focused electric work vehicles seem to have a very bright future in the US.
The Lordstown thing seems to be aimed at fleet only. They are doing this pickup truck, but they are also focusing on a step van for delivery companies - which is likely a pretty big market. Amazon and UPS will jump on that pretty quickly.
GM and Honda are partnering up on scalable EV battery tech. GM is already gaining a lot of ground on the chassis development. Chevrolet is planning to replace their Express van with an electric-only vehicle based on a two wheel drive, dual motor version of the Hummer EV chassis. There will not be a gasoline or diesel powered Chevrolet van in a couple of years - electric only. This won't make as many ripples in the press as the pickup trucks will, but it will have a massive impact to fuel consumption in the US. EV is perfect for that delivery vehicle use - they run 200-300 miles per day, then return to a centralized location for unloading/charging....rinse and repeat.
The beauty of these "made for EV" platforms is that they don't require massive amount of space for an engine, drive shaft, or transmission. They can proportion the car exactly as the designers want, and they can scale it to different markets very easily. The same chassis that supports a Hummer EV can be scaled down for a work van or even a luxury sports car.
This is the undercarriage and battery pack of the Hummer EV:
![](https://i.postimg.cc/NGdHfNkP/Hummer-EV-chassis.jpg)
They can remove 1 or 2 of the 3 motors present, change the suspension, and use fewer battery cells for a much lighter, lower vehicle very easily. Remember the days when almost every vehicle a company made shared a chassis? We are getting to a point where a company the size of Toyota or GM could have their entire lineup on 2-3 platforms instead of 8-10.
The Tesla Cybertruck may not be as modular of a design, but it can likely support a full sized SUV or delivery van VERY easily without many core changes.

Just ran across one of those guys on the road this morning. Looked like he just busted out of the local civic center and was riding arse.

Ya, but how are you going to roll coal in a EV?

69k isn’t terrible considering some of the new F150s are getting into the high 50s.
Spending this much on depreciating assets is dumb. One of the reasons why I never have the latest and greatest of anything. I'd rather buy a cheaper vehicle and use the remaining as discretionary money to travel and experience things with my family. To each his/her own though.

Would be incredibly stupid of GM to take this route but Ford and Fiat are bludgeoning them in the work van market so they might be desperate.
