Anybody else watching the Packers/49’ers game on Fox?

I remember was Gilbert brown was an anomaly

Now most interior DL are big as hell

I've watched a few of these throw back games and I have to say, there have been some soft arse PI calls in all of them.

Horrendous playcalling by the packers, leaving too much time on the clock for san fran

He was famous for overstating the obvious. I loved the take Frank Caliendo had on him with his impersonation.

To me the throw was better when you consider how the play started

I think it boiled down to what was considered professional commentating back then.

Showing emotion or enthusiasm could be misconstrued as showing favoritism and it's a commentators job to remain neutral.

His dry tone and subtle setups for Madden were great. If you were familiar with em you could catch the humor in how he knew exactly what would send madden on one of his rants. Like he’d say “Lil screen pass there John” and that would set up a 5 minute orgasmic breakdown by Madden.

Would you have preferred he cheered wildly and enthusiastically for one or both teams? I think Pat was an excellent PBP announcer. One of the best.
