Well there’s you’re problem. You don’t know how it works. You can’t see the forest for the trees

Sorry Gyno. When you are extending a player on a RFA tender, you are not negotiating year 1. You are hammering out year 2 to soften the blow now vs later. Taysom takes a bit less than what he believes his market value could be (as a starting qb in 2021) cause he's getting paid security now.

And none of that has anything to do with being a QB

You are looking up an offensive weapon who provides depth at every skill position on the field and plays special teams

You are attempting to assign a worth as a QB but are struggling bc there is no historical contract comp for a player like Taysom

The Saints disagree.

You are living in a world that does not exist.

Not struggling at all. It was low tier starting qb value right around where Dalton previously was. Its a tryout contract for both parties.

Yeah. Drew getting hurt last year would have been ideal to "unleash".

Gyno and Lester are the Statler and Waldorf of this forum. Heckling with little substance. When someone posts a hundred thousand times it's inevitable they will start believing their own nonsense. Only trolls or the willfully obtuse don't think Payton is leaning towards Hill being the starter of the future.

Little substance? You usually drop in, lay a shitpost down then take off. Stay awhile

Chad has long contended that Hill was the next QB. I’m simply laying out reasons why it points to an open job. What do you disagree with?

17 million dollars and Saints don't even have a qb (7th rounder doesnt' count) on the roster that year and you frickers still walk around blind.

Right?

How are you planning for Taysom to be your QB of the future when you don’t even insert him for what would be important game reps.

Again; 31yr old 1st year starting QBs are not a thing. I’m going to go with history on this one.

And yet you were one of the firsts to point out you don't pay someone 17 million dollars to touch the ball 5-8 times in a game.

I don't know what Taysom's ceiling is, but I don't think his floor is terrible though. He will likely need a better team around him than Drew required to be competitive, which Taysom making considerably less money than Drew helps that situation out.
With that being said, to your point about him getting meaningful game snaps, I still say that the last drive against Minnesota last season Payton should have put Taysom in at QB. He proved all game long he was our best player on Offense that day, Drew couldn't do much, I think Payton blew a big chance to light Taysom's flame as the legit potential starting QB.

Say he never signs jameis for a couple mil, which fell in their lap
Then what?
Taysom would still be playing his joker role this year and u would still have a 3rd qb

Say it was some no name guy
Payton always wanted taysom to play the joker role this year

How do people not get that to get the most out of taysom in dre2's final year, Payton was always going to sign a 3rd qb
Luckily they got jameis
What if jameis signs for big money with another team

And who the fook thought the saints weren't bringing in a 3rd qb
Do you really think you are nostradamus for figuring that out
Team was always going to have 3 qbs to let taysom shine in the joker role in drews last year

Just want to get you on record Lester.
Do you really believe taysom won't get a chance to be the starter next year?
Say jameis didn't fall in the saints lap, who would Payton have signed?
