I've noticed during the weekend there are a lot less people wearing masks around town but during the week most people seem to have mask on.

I'm a no mask person. Can't breathe in those things.

On the downside I had a little fever yesterday and woke up today and cant smell anything. No other symptoms though. Feel fine

I'm a 10%er. And I go out every day to multiple stores.

Lowe’s and Home Depot shoppers wear masks about at a 10% rate. Almost all of the shoppers do not wear masks. But, at a grocery store, I see over 50% wearing masks. North Central Alabama.

Im not saying it’ll make sense, but it will happen. And you’ll put on your mask like you’re told.

Nah.

I just won't patronize a business requiring masks. I mean it's their business, so they can require what they want, but there's not a place I need to go to bad enough to where I'll be forced to wear a mask. Thankfully very, very few businesses down here resort to such stupidity.

such a weird thing to me

masks just aren't that much of an inconvenience that I'm going to change any of my shopping or going out habits

Interesting fact, I, as well as many others, just developed a medical condition that prevents us from wearing a mask

Still haven’t been anywhere in BR that’s required them

Costco is a no go for me right now because I’m too lazy to wait in the long arse check out lines

I’ll throw on a mask if I get desperate for some tri tip though

WF just started here. They were handing them out yesterday at the door.

Also my dentist required a mask while in the lobby this morning. I guess I was supposed to storm out and not go to the dentist?

A lot of doctors' offices are going to require them, if they aren't already. So these internet tough guys I guess won't go to the doctor or dentist either.

I don’t know. I haven’t had to go to the dentist. Or doctor.

Don’t you live in Shreveport? They’ve seemed to be more draconian about this shite than BR

I'd put it at 30% at best wearing masks in St George/Ascension

I don't know where in Ascension you're going but every time I've been to Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, etc. since this started, I'm seeing roughly 60-70% wearing masks.

For the record - I don't wear one because I'm healthy, young, and not overweight. If it makes a resurgence when my daughter is born this summer, I'm wearing one then just so I don't catch it and bring it home to an infant. Even then the odds of that happening are slim but better to be safe than sorry.

Can someone point me to why this is such a big deal?

- Unnecessary government intrusion into private businesses & their operations.
- Hypocrisy on display from the government regarding mask-wearing.
- Holding the wearing as a hostage item for reopening businesses vs. simply stressing their importance.
- Rise in their "importance" has not been in line with the spread of the virus.
- No scientific proof that the products used and the manner in which the masks are being worn is effective.
- Many healthcare professionals have argued that the manner in which the public is wearing them is less-effective and provides a false sense of security.

"The government" has largely been wrong every step of the way in this pandemic...but now I'm just supposed to trust them that a pair of Hanes underwear resewn into a mask is the solution? For now, I'll continue to go about my day, not cough into my hands, keep my 6' distance, etc.

If a private business wants to require me to wear one to enter, I'll make that decision on an as-needed basis.
