Why should the people and taxpayers of America be bailing out poorly run states (like Illinois, as example) and cities, in all cases Democrat run and managed, when most of the other states are not looking for bailout help? I am open to discussing anything, but just asking?

They shouldn't. If this happens, it's all over.

This is what he needs to be doing - signaling to states and locales there will be nothing to be gained by staying shut down.

Do your research. New York provides more money to the Federal government than any other state.

I agree. Why do we bail out poorly run corporations?

Does the state of New York provide the money, or do the taxpayers?

Most of the people who benefit from this chaos come from poorly run red states.

Can you expound on this? Who exactly do you see as "most of the people" who are "benefiting" from this and how?

You need to do some research.
They also use more welfare than nearly every state.

I've done plenty of research on debtor vs donor states.
What does that have to do with how those sovereign states financed their local governments?

Perfect example of just how meaningless the President's words really are. And if you do technical analysis of the stock market and the jobs market you'll come to the same conclusion. 4 of the 5 biggest contributors to the Federal Government happen to have Democratic governors. 3 of the 5 biggest drains on the Federal government have Republican governors. Look it up and you'll find the President is not being factual or honest - again.

I was calling out his stupidity.
We should end welfare and we wouldn't be having this discussion.
