I would bet his future contract and Burrow’s that Stingley isn’t, not even a single little bit ticked.

I bet it all that he is thrilled for his teammates and anxious to get back on the field as a defending SEC and National champion and excited to take a few snaps on offense this year.

So stop wondering about dumb arse shite.

One year ago, Derek was at the prom. He is loving life right now. Shaquille O’Neal said in an interview 10 years ago that if he had a time machine he would go back to Baton Rouge from 1989-1992. (He was poor, but living the college life dream.).Peyton Manning came back for his Senior year because he said it was fun. Money doesn’t buy happiness. Derek has a good family. He will enjoy these next 2 years.

Honestly that would suck and be very disappointing to an avid fans perspective. That is why I hate the basketball rule because you only get to enjoy 1 year of an elite player dress up in purple and gold.

There are considerable humanitarian reasons as to why we don’t allow teenagers to get peelayed by 29 year old jacked up NFL players

maybe the XFL will become that transitional league for those that don't want to play college ball. Pretty sure they will take a player straight out of high school if that said player chooses to go that route and forgo college. Stingley could quit college football right now if he chose to. However, big time college football seems to be a pretty good preparatory league for pro football players as it stands right now.

Putting Teens into the NFL football league would be a mistake and this rule happens to be a good rule

Stingley has nothing to regret because he made no decision about this rule, he has no say in the matter.

How can he regret something that he has no control over?

He is already a national champion. Already a 1st team All-American and would have been drafted higher than Okudah if eligible this year. If he was a basketball player he would be signed to make millions right now. But he has to stay in college for two more years and again watch DBs he is better than get their money next year. Obviously we all think playing in the P&G is a good thing and I'm sure he enjoys it as well but I do wonder if he is somewhat regretting the 3 year NFL rule right now. Definitely hope he invests in a nice insurance policy the next two seasons to protect himself.

EDIT: I still cant help but find it hilarious that we live a capitalist society where everyone is allowed to look for the biggest profit possible but athletes are supposed to be like "Yeah frick money. I just want to risk breaking my neck every week for pure fun." That sounds like some crazy SJW stuff to me just saying...

As a college fan, I'm very grateful that we have a system that encourages guys like Stingley to play college football for 3 years.

As an NFL fan, I'm very grateful that players are developed enough to contribute immediately when they are drafted. It's much better than teams drafting unknown quantities and having to hold on to them for a couple of years.

Both situations are good for the game.

I couldn't imagine being such a bleeding heart that I'd prefer to give a guy a 10 year, multi-million dollar salary, career instead of an 8 year career at the expense of the actual game.

Be less emotional.

I’m a little ticked that I read that whole OP.

And I wish Stingley had kept his hair the same as it was at the start of the season and not changed it. Not sure I’d say ticked about it but I prefer the early season hairstyle.

Part of freedom/capitalism is everyone gets to make their own decisions. The NFL is a private business with a Union and they have every right in a so called free and capitalist society to set a minimum standard for employment. In this case they say 3 years after HS you are eligible to apply. There is no requirement to play college football. Stingley would be free to drop out of school and work out on his, go play in Canada perhaps, whatever he wants to do.

The rules are set by the NFL, NBA etc.

Every single business in this country gets to determine job requirements for potential employees, why would professional sports be any different ?

Stingley isn’t ready to cover someone like Michael Thomas or many other NFL receivers. He needs more time to mature.

No one stopping them from doing their own thing.

What you are doing is complaining about their rights of association skills.

You commies can't help yourself.

Let's stop giving athletes free college and open up the NFL to 18 year olds.

Lol...man I’m glad not to be in his shoes. Stingley’s struggle is real. Hard not to feel bad for him and his tough situation...

Why should Stingley be mad about this?

Should Trevor Lawrence be mad, too? He would have been the #1 pick for the past 2 years.
