If Sean turns this lunatic into a good QB, then Sean is the greatest QB teacher of all time

Underhill called this shite again. It’s time to realize he’s got legit sources now. Maybe that’s why he came back to the NOLA beat.
I like the signing IMO but it likely means Warford either got a pay cut or we released or traded him. Or maybe it was Easton.

Somebody has to teach our DBs how to catch. Great signing.

Well. I think there's two ways to look at it. For one, he's never had a coach worth a frick. He's had 3 different head coaches and only until last year did he have one that was worth a damn and even then, Arians isn't exactly on McVay or Payton’s level. Two, he's only 26. That's still pretty young man. Look at Ryan Tannehill. Dude was garbage in Miami. Comes into Tennessee and leads them to the AFC championship at 30 years old, has his best year. Now I'm not saying Winston is gonna be fricking Brees, but Payton helped Teddy lead us to wins. Hell he made Luke McCown look good. I think we can turn Winston into a version of what the Titans got with Tannehill last year, which is a top 15 QB. I'd say wait and see what Payton can do with him before we write this off as just a one year thing.

I think he's garbage right now but he's got some talent. But he's still a turnover machine. That’s his knock. He makes terrible decisions. He’s also been on some pretty bad teams with even shittier defenses. All the turnovers could be because he's constantly throwing it and they're constantly behind in addition to the high turnovers. I think he could turn into a slightly better version of Tannehill from last year, which ain't bad for a guy after Brees.
Payton would have to shift to a more run oriented offense. Limit Winston’s pass attempts and stay on him about smart decisions. A year under Brees and Payton might do this guy some good

I agree. I’m sure our fans will flame it but the dude has traits that can be coached. He’s averaged 36 passes per game since coming into the league, which is 6th on the all time per game average. Other QBs on that list include Brees, Stafford, Luck, Wentz and Matt Ryan. All of those QBs, outside of Wentz, have had multiple seasons like 7-8+ seasons, of 12+ INTs. More pass attempts = higher chances of INTs. Now I’m not saying it’s not on Winston because it is. He’s terrible with the ball and makes incredibly bad throws. But Tampa, outside of his rookie year, has been in the bottom 10 in the league in rushing every single year and outside of last year, hasn’t really been with a decent coach.
Last year, not much excuse with the weapons, Arians and a decent OL. They still sucked running the ball even though they had a high number of attempts. And their defense wasn’t complete garbage, or maybe they were. He’s only 26. I think Payton could fix him and make him a viable QB if we went to a more run oriented style

I’m more than happy to sign him as a back up on a 1 year deal. Sean can figure out for a year if he’s the future or not on this team. He’s got the talent

Exactly. If he shows you something, why not bring him back in case Taysom isn’t the answer? Don’t just give it to Taysom. Make him earn it. Make him beat out Winston. The dude can play. If they can improve his decision making, give him a run game and limit him to 28-30 passes a game, I think he can play.
