Solid backup has more skins on the wall than some clown like Josh Rosen

And yes this is YUGE homer bias but it must be said that Lasik is a game changer for tons of people all the time. He’s got some talent he went #1 overall for a reason let’s see if having hugely improved vision translates to smarter decisions

Brooks had no where near the physicality of Willie Beaman either.

This thread is...something else.

The usual idiots spewing crap.

He is a backup QB. That threw for 5000 yards.

He is super talented and will be the best backup QB in the league. Hopefully learning under CSP and Drew for a year will help the young man rehab his career. And I bet the LASIK helped.

Great move. You get a top flight backup and the staff gets a year long look at him to see if they think he could be the starter if Drew hangs it up. And you still have Taysom on the rosters. It's a no lose situation.

This guy was once a punching bag for ST, and now he is being embraced all of a sudden....I can’t believe it.

Winston raped a girl in college and got away with it.

He’s also a thief.

His play? He holds the damn record for the amount of pick sixes in the league.

I’m just mystified with the organization in general for signing this guy since SP is known for a “high character” locker room.

Embraced is your word and you built a post around it. That's your issue not ours.

One year backup deal is not embracing.
Great body crappy head for a QB is not embracing.
Position of need being filled is not embracing.
No negatives all upside is not embracing.

What excites me the most is that we are the program that people go to to be a backup and revive their career. Such a change from our history.

These are the type of players we all joke on here about “prove it deals”. So we sign him to prove it and people freak out. This is a fricking business you hire people that aren’t perfect to try and win. If he doesn’t help you win then hell he might be gone after training camp for all we know.

Jameis is actually a high character guy. He was a leader in college. Everyone has made dumb choices while in college if you haven’t then you didn’t enjoy college. Finally he threw so many ints because of his vision issue, and teams knowing that Tampa was never gonna run the ball. He got Lasik surgery to fix the vision issue, and with the saints he actually has RBs to help him.

I don’t know about the other stuff. I don’t know what’s true and what isn’t.

Has he been an idiot in the past? Yes.

He was also like 20-23 yrs old when he did that stuff.

He needs to grow up. But...He threw for 5k yards. He also threw a shitload of TDs. He has less INTs in his first 5 years than Peyton Manning. He’s had 3 different HCs in 5 years.

He’s a BACKUP. Use some logic. Separate yourself from your divisional hate.

He’s a Saint now. Let’s support the young man.

Love the move. We get a serviceable backup QB at basically no risk to us with extremely high reward. He's never been the low man on the totem pole before and he'll learn a lot from Sean and Drew

Most importantly, it frees us up to be able to use Taysom however we want to. Good signing to cap off a great 3 days for the New Orleans Saints

So many won't understand how awesome this is and what a seed change too.

And you know...that's good!
