Daniel Jeremiah I believe is his name.
While breaking down Fultons pick. He said “Also he played across from the best cornerback in all of college football.”
That’s an NFL analyst saying Stingley is the top dude in the college game. We’re not just being homers. It’s the truth.
Enjoy the ride baws.

I mean I was confident in that before this.
However it’s just crazy to see an NFL level analyst naming names of a guy coming off a true freshman season saying he is the best in the game.
Damn. Just soak that in.

It’s pretty well known. Highly recruited and backed it up on the field. He’s legit as they come.

The gap between Stingley and the second cornerback on this list is massive. Stingley shattered PFF records across the board in his 2019 true freshman campaign, notably putting together the most WAA we have ever seen by a non-quarterback in a single season. Stingley just had one of the best seasons we have ever seen in the PFF College era

Other than the Alabama game and a small portion of the UF game he was lights out
Smith did give him the business against Alabama though. Although on both of the deep plays the coaching staff didn't put him in a great position IMO

1 was a slip, the other was on the coaches.

The Florida game was his “worst” game but a lot of that was scheme. Aranda refused to bring pressure for most of the first half of the season. That game and the Texas game were so frustrating because just about every time we did bring pressure we were successful. He just rarely did it.

And last year Delpit was a top 5 pick and this year won the Thorp.
Point is you are only as good as your last 12 games

The bama game was easily his worst game yes some was on the coach’s but smith’s route running gave stingley fits

O just crushes recruiting.

Only thing is, he said we were going to see him in next year’s draft on the Herd. I love DJ, but I said to myself, you’re discrediting him just a little.
He’s only a freshman. Lol. Stupid good 24 is.

Every WR that enters the draft next year (that plays against LSU) will be graded out against Stingley.
It’s the equivalent of saying let’s see how this college WR will do against nfl coverage.

bullshite! The first one, sure, that was a clever play by Bama. But 90 seconds left, up by two scores, and Bama on their own 15? The coaches made a good call. It’s up to the corners to not let those guys get behind them. Stingley did nothing - not in the release phase, not in the catch phase - to impede Smith’s sprint to our end zone. Had he done anything - anything at all - to slow Smith, the safety would have been there.
On the other hand, if LSU had played prevent, it’s easy to envision Bama hitting uncontested 10 yard slants to Jeudy or Smith, and them ripping off YAC against a spread out backfield. With the clock stopping on first downs, Bama would have scored in 30 seconds, and LSU fans would have been screaming about the stupid “prevent” defense. Remember this the next time you’re complaining about your favorite team playing prevent.
Correct call. Perhaps they should have benched a pass rusher and added a safety to play three deep. In fact, I do think that would have been better given the circumstances, but I loved the bump and run on the outside. Horrible execution by Stingley. He might as well have not been on the field.

The comment says more about Fulton then Sting. Teams were not throwing at Sting, so Fulton had a heavier than normal work load every week.
