I closed on my 2.99% 30 year refi on June 30. I told myself I wouldn't revisit this thread because I knew the rates would continue to drop and I'd be upset.
Yet, here I am. Still telling myself 2.99% is historically low and I need to be happy about it. Congrats to literally everyone refinancing/purchasing.

yes but they are not as low as the rates should be. we are only doing portfolio Jumbo's no one is buying them in the secondary market. you purchasing or refinancing? last week wells fargo issued a statement saying to borrowr jumbo money from them you must have 1 million on deposit with them. thats how hard jumbo money is to come by right now.

you did well, 2.625% is gone it only lasted 2 days last week. Purchase money is 2.75% and lowest refinance 30 is the same. You have get the perfect day and perfect scenerio to get these rock bottom rates.

I was just offered 3.25% unsolicited by my current mortgage company - no fees, no cost rolling into loan, keeping the same duration of the loan. Essentially a free reduction

Where would be the best place to start looking at refinance options? Local bank or credit union? Independent broker?
In Baton Rouge.

These deals are decieving, run the numbers on 2.875% with closign cost added in. that extra .5% of interest saved over a the life of the loan is worth the closing cost.

Locked in a rate this week to keep same term and drop from 4% to 2.8%. Pretty happy about it.

Locked in 2.75 for 30 last week. Can’t close until September due to the number of refinances going on right now though.
