Saints TE Ben Watson scored a 48, a TE now that's impressive.
how does being a TE matter? There's nothing preventing any TE or any other position player from being highly intelligent.

Meaningless
his dumbness is a very limiting factor for the team and the coaches. There's a big difference between being an exciting player who can win some regular season games and awards and being a championship qb.

I understand Terry Bradshaw’s IQ wasn’t the highest but he did OK in the NFL

The NFL was simple as frick when Bradshaw played and he had many greats playing with him. Jackson is an athletic freak. If you practice the Wonderlic test a couple of times and learn a strategy for taking, then a good score is not out of question. I’m sure agents prepare these athletes for the test through tutors and people who specialize in preparing people for the test taking/Wonderlic. The same type of questions come up again and again.

It’s still football. Some people have football smarts some don’t. You could argue Bradshaw made his receivers great.
The point is the test doesn’t indicate future success or failure no matter how you spin it.

Imo, the only position teams should care about those scores is qb. That being said, I took a sample test online, and scored 46/50. Granted, I didn't have the pressure of my future earnings depending on it, but it is nothing but common sense and simple math, patterns, etc.. I think if anything, it illustrates how ignorant a lot of athletes are. As they say, they don't go to college for the education.

It’s not a make or break test, but to say it doesn’t matter is asinine. They wouldn’t do it otherwise. Sure, some qbs with low scores do well in the league, but that’s not typically the case.

I have the test. Give it to people I’m interviewing for a job as an insurance salesperson. Anyone that’s first language is English should score around a 20. Much over a 30 and they overthink some situations.

You intentionally hire dumb people so they font overthink their shitty job? That’s rich.

Just like 40, BJ, VJ, skills, etc. they all getting training from agents who send them places to improve draft stock at combine. They receive tutoring/practice test for QB I’m sure. If you still make a 13, you are borderline idiot.

I’d care about it for an OL as well as a MLB

No it's not

Take away Lamar s running ability and he is a different qb
The wonderlic doesn't account for that
That offense is schemed perfectly to fit exactly what he does well

Funny, you can talk about how weak someone’s arm is, how slow they run, their VJ, skill set, etc but if you talk about brain power you are out of bounds. Player x won’t go in first round bc he is slow, no power, arm is weak, etc but the minute you mention brains you crossed the line. Got it.

I had to take it as part of a job interview. The HR person told me to answer as many as I could, that no one ever completed the test. It was 50 questions with about 45 minutes to complete. I finished with 10 minutes to spare.

It was not very difficult and all but a handful of the answers were fairly obvious. A few required math computations.

The test given to the NFL draft players is 50 questions and they have 15 minutes.

Jeudy apparently scored a 9. From what I’ve read the only 2 positions where wonder kid really correlated to anything is QB and OL.

Jackson is a generational athlete though. Tua isn’t.

There have been studies that show below average wonder kid scores correlates with less yards and TDs than above average scores over the same time period. Outliers of course exist and it’s possible Tua is an outlier as well but it’s not a meaningless test for QBs.

With all due respect to Lamar, if y’all keep throwing this phrase around like this, it’s gonna lose its meaning
