If it has to be 14 consecutive days where positive cases decrease day over day

Are you sure about that?

The language says a 14 day downward trajectory. I don't know what that means technically.

On 4/1 LA had around 1200, on 4/16 around 600. Based on the days between they are definitely on a downward trend.

Our Governor (although unlikely) has the authority to leave this decision up to Parish and City officials.

And even if he doesnt the parishes can ignore him. He cant enforce shite.

Downward trajectory means taking the last 14 days of positive cases and graph it, smooth the line and if it is going down, then criteria met. We started this on April 10. We will meet it on April 24. That is a Friday. Most of the state goes to phase 1 Monday the 27th and phase 2 mid May. Phase 3 mid June to end of June.

How many days have we had a downward trend in cases?

We're on day 9 of a downward trend of new cases using a 7-day rolling average.

We're on day 15 of less new reported cases from the peak

We're on day 0 from less new cases reported than the previous day.

If Trump would come out and say "Louisiana is not eligible to be released from the work restrictions" Jon Bel Edwards would issue a news release tonight saying he is ordering the removal of all work restrictions on Louisiana's businesses immediately...

On 4/12 we had 581 positive tests. We just had 581 positive tests come back today. It fell from 4/9 to 4/12, then it's been up and down since then.

How does smoothing out that line work out to going down?

I'm genuinely curious, because it seems like we are just bouncing up and down right now, not decreasing over time.

Technically, over the last 14 days La could meet the first criteria today. The hospital one not so much.

The gating requirements will be broken down, parish by parish.

No need for N. Louisiana to suffer because NOLA is a festering shithole.

I don't think that is how it works.

I think that unless things worsen over the next two weeks, JBE will let his shutdown expire May 1st and we will enter phase 1

Something real screwy going on. Look at the trend up till 4/13, the see what happened right after.

JBE needed more cases?
