So you think doctors are willing to put non covid patients on a covid floor and exposing them to infection for reimbursements the doctors themselves don’t benefit from?
Makes little difference what I or you think.

This thread is about Dr. Jensen's professional experience with sloppy data/definition standards as to the so-called "Pandemic" that has us all on House Arrest.

Im not thinking. I’m telling you how the largest health system in Louisiana is handling it

Your arse is not getting on the covid floor and staying until you test positive.

Jensen is a well known public figure and physician in Minnesota. It is his information that I am repeating on this thread.

You, on the other hand, are an anonymous keyboard warrior.

Then Jenson is a liar, or practices medicine at one of the biggest piece of shite hospitals in America because they are willing to infect non covid patients simply to lose less money

Hopefully jenson and his hospital will be shutdown

So Dan Jensen won’t say that Minnesota’s data is unreliable. But you are sure the whole United State’s data is.

LINK

quote:

So is the Minnesota state data reliable? "I don't have any position to question that," said Dr. Jensen. "I know that I've talked with nursing staff who have been involved with people who have passed away that either had living wills or were on hospice care and in some of those situations, I've been led to believe that there may have been a COVID-19 diagnosis included on the death certificate document without having had a COVID-19 confirmed laboratory test."

Know how much a hospital gets for a Covid patient dying on hospice?
$0

I’m not sure the good Senator has thought all this through.

He’s an FP. He doesn’t know anything beyond office reimbursement.

I don't believe it unless Tucker Carlson said it.

They are losing millions more by not being able to do "elective" surgeries.

Not really.

Jensen's exact response when asked if the numbers were off:

quote:

So is the Minnesota state data reliable?

quote:

"I don't have any position to question that," said Dr. Jensen. "I know that I've talked with nursing staff who have been involved with people who have passed away that either had living wills or were on hospice care and in some of those situations, I've been led to believe that there may have been a COVID-19 diagnosis included on the death certificate document without having had a COVID-19 confirmed laboratory test."

This dastardly email that the media referenced yesterday was released today and it simply instructs MN physicians to follow the published CDC guidelines as to the designated cause of death where COVID may be concerned. Those CDC guidelines have been around for a few weeks and no one has had any issue with them and they are in line with typical medical practices.

Jensen's entire issue is designating a COVID death as such in the absence of a positive test. However, given the reality of early test availability and the typical practice of diagnosing based on clinic findings in the absence of available testing, this is an accepted practice and has been for other illness for a long, long time.

Furthermore, the CDC has a different coding parameter when there is no test but presumed COVID which allows them to account for the difference in the data.

This is a huge nonstory.

CDC is fudging the numbers. Everyone who gives a shite knows this (you included)

This is 2020, not 1975. You can't hide developments like this. No way.

No doubt.

Congrats on stumbling on this vast conspiracy. What would we ever do without your genius?

Is that amount per day or per stay?

If it's per stay, hospitals are going to lose a lot of money here.

If it's per day... it would make sense that a hospital has a lot more costs if someone is on a vent.

The grand conspiracy that hospitals are padding COVID numbers to lose more money than if they just reported everyone as having the flu or some other bug. He really is brilliant.

Right. I think we should send a letter to President Trump suggesting you become the head of the CDC. This thread has shown your incredibly understanding of our nation's health systems' financial innerworkings, coding practices, treatment protocols, and massive data intake systems.

Surely you could get this "blunder" turned around.

A 7-10 day hospital stay is going to cost much, much more than that. And considering most of the hospitalizations are elderly, which means they are on Medicare, this is a time bomb for hospitals.

I had heard some comments though not confirmed that they could get some additional government money to make them whole.
