Does Canada have their holidays a day after us just to mess with us?

Last Christmas I was made aware of Boxing Day, which apparently is Canadian Christmas. They celebrate it on December 26th but nobody knows why.

Fast forward to this morning. I'm told that Canadian Easter is April 13th, on a freaking Monday. No way that's an accident.

I'm sure they are making there's one day after ours on purpose. I just can't figure out why?

They know they are second fiddle. So, they let Ole Glory celebrate first.

Boxing Day is an international holiday, mostly observed amongst the British commonwealth nations. It isn’t “Canadian Christmas”

That's because the harvest comes a little earlier up there.

Isn't it just called Easter Monday? Easter is still on Sunday

And like others have said, boxing day is a thing in other places. Christmas in Canada is still... on Christmas day. Thanksgiving there is in October. Canada Day is July 1.

This thread is stupid.

Boxing Day is similar to our black friday. This is what a Canadian once told me.
