Half the country should be Louisiana since 1803

Mobile has some good people but there would be way to much head butting with the Nola elite. I would not mind claiming Bay St. Louis and Pass though.

Maybe we’d shut up about being the original Mardi Gras if we weren’t in Alabama.

I’d give up some pieces of North LA for more pieces of coast. Seems fair.

I've always thought £97 Diana should be southern Louisiana to Pensacola. Give North Louisiana to Arkansas. We have much more in common across the coast.

I'm married to a northern Alabama girl and y'all are more like us than them. State rivalry aside.

The wife is a Jefferson County gump. Mobile is more like South Louisiana than it is Birmingham. You aren't wrong. We need to form a new government if we are doing this though.

Mobile is to Alabama like New Orleans is to Louisiana if that makes sense.

The Gulf Coast is awesome. Best seafood, beaches, music, and weather (apart from hurricanes).

I get it but mobile and ocean springs are more like South Louisiana than Huntsville or Monroe. Let's just slice the states in half.

Nola might be the voting center though. Bad idea altogether.

As a born and raised MS coast resident, I agree

The coast is way closer to Louisiana culturally than it is to the rest of Mississippi

The only things I know about Huntsville comes from this board. I look on LinkedIn and indeed and only see $16/hr manufacturing jobs, which is cool I guess. Being born and raised in LA I can say that I have never been to Monroe or had any desire ever visiting.

It's true, but it's Mississippi's saving grace in a way, because without the coast there would be no tourism here.

I'd trade North LA for Mobile and Biloxi in a heartbeat.
