This is like a "safety arms race".
Politicians keep trying to one up each other.
I'm very concerned.

There's not a chance in hell this lasts. Whether the governor formally rescinds the order or not.

They fear their importance waning.

That's easy for them to say. They're going to be gainfully employed between now and then. There are going to be millions of Americans who aren't going to have a job until at least the end of April.

If it lasts much longer...people will start to riot.

I would start ignoring the order past a certain date. I will do the same here in Illinois if Pritzker starts trying some stupid shite like that.

Reading earlier about a nurse on Facebook who stopped at a gas station after work, asked the clerk where something was, and instead of answering he...get ready, he pointed to it. HE DIDN’T ANSWER HER BECAUSE SHE’S A NURSE. DON’T USE THIS GAS STATION NURSES THEY HATE YOU!!!

That chart doesn’t make sense.

Flattering the curve is supposed to stretch out the pandemic, not lessen the overall number of cases.
The “business as usual” curve should be a lot steeper, but crash down a lot sooner too

I think people will stop giving a frick in two weeks let alone at the end of this month. It won’t last.

Do these projections account for potential increases in capacity due to emergency staging and increased production of needed items? Also, how do they reflect the current practices in place that have been designed to "flatten the curve?"

Are there any places a layperson like myself can read through the rationale behind these sorts of projections in language that is somewhat coherent?

The problem is that "non-essential" businesses can't ignore that order and they are the ones most impacted by this order. They will have to stay shut down or be shut down and that's where it get's unnerving.

June 10 is insane. He is going to bankrupt a good portion of the restaurants and small businesses in the state.

I don't understand the reasoning behind issuing one for June 10th. Why not April 30th and reevaluate? Does it open them up to request more aid or something? See no positive benefits to saying a date so long in the future.

Underpromise and overdeliver.

Say June 10th, open 2 weeks before or more. Look like you are worth a flying frick.
