Law students pushing for diploma privilege

This has to be a joke, right? They're claiming that since most bar exams for this summer are going to be delayed they should not only be allowed to practice law without taking the bar in their state, but they should also get diploma privilege for every other state.
Anyone actually agree with this?

Can't practice if courts are closed ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Less lawyers is not a bad thing

Of course this is absurd and yet not surprising.
I don't think it ultimately really matters though as they're either working for a firm under licensed attorneys or else trying to scrap for work they'll likely never get unless it's a close friend or family member.
The multistate thing is totally absurd though. I have to pay thousands of dollars, wait many months and pass a fitness examination to be able to reciprocate. And in many states (SC, FL, CA, NY for e.g.), I'd have to sit for the bar.

Anyone who thinks that should automatically be flunked out of law school for being incompetent.

The type of stupid shite I would expect from 3rd years.

I agree that they should be given a diploma but they shouldn’t be able to practice without taking the bar. That’s just dumb.

I can't stand lawyers or courts in general but the whole bar exam thing is beyond stupid. Surely anyone with half a brain knows the constitution is completely shite upon and laws in general are misused in extreme fashion. With that in mind, that makes the need to pass the bar exam impractical. Basically, the bar exam doesn't test much of what practicing law really is about.

Bunch of out of work lawyers will be suing the states to try to get this resolved. Let them all fight it out amongst themselves. Lawyers being lawyers.

Lots of good lawyers
That being said, that is the one higher-level profession that has the largest number of absolute jokes that are employed within it

What’s the normal pass rate? If it’s 90+%, why not?
