As well as Ohio has done to "flatten the curve," Dr. Amy Acton, Director of the Ohio Department of Health says Ohio's peak will be Mid May with up to 10k cases per day at that time. WTF! If it will that bad in Ohio then the rest of the country is screwed.

That’s six weeks — that doesn’t seem right.

This is such bullshite. People are going to riot once they realize this wasnt nearly as bad as they thought.

I’m trying to understand “the peak isn’t going to hit for 8 weeks” predictions. How in hell is it going to spread like wildfire that far away when damn near everything is closed down and people are isolating?

She must be using the data that started the panic. Not the actual data that is coming in now.

That's the point of flattening the curve. Delay the peak. Spread out the cases so hospitals aren't overrun. Mid May isn't bad. 10,000 cases a day will suck dick.

As Ohio goes so goes the country. Just like Presidential elections. Things are going to be bleak by Mayday.

What's the point of attempting to flatten the curve if it goes all the way to mid may and results in 10K cases per day?

She's the one that claimed Ohio had 180K cases a week or two ago.

It's not 10x that in April and you have people dying in droves because they can't get medical attention? This isn't a hard concept.

Oh I get the concept. I just don't think it's worth all the trouble.

Because a lot of people still don’t take this seriously and refuse to isolate.

Agreed

In medicine, we try to prepare patients and their families for the worst while hoping for the best.

All of these extremely morbid predictions about death rates/numbers are doing nothing but adding to the panic and hysteria of so many people. Healthy people with healthy kids are thinking that they’re going to be facing death if they catch this.

I wonder how those who are terrified right now are going to live their lives if a vaccine with lifelong immunity isn’t developed. Are they going to live a life of social distancing? Home school their kids? Never shake hands or hug? Wear masks and gloves everywhere they go? Bath in sanitizer every day?

It will be interesting, to say the least, to see how people live their lives from now on.

The governor says a peak in Mid May but his tweet has a graph showing Mid April.

I wonder if this is turning into each state trying to paint the bleakest picture because of the competition for resources.
